There has never been a moment when I felt such a strong urge to share something with all of you through writing.
Thank you all for your support of Rebirth of the Female Side Character over the past six months. This is my first contemporary romance novel, and because of your backing—your encouragement from those who silently followed or frequently left comments—you have been my most comforting little piece of warm cotton in the background, providing the drive that keeps me going even when I feel utterly down.
As everyone knows, writing this book has been incredibly difficult for me. Due to health reasons, and perhaps out of a grim necessity to make a living, my updates have been sparse; usually, I manage only one chapter a day. I actually feel quite ashamed of this, so I haven't dared to ask for pink votes or any kind of support at all.
Yet, you have all been so patient with me, leaving encouraging messages whenever my mood soured, which often makes me feel especially guilty.
Looking back at this novel, it started off a bit clumsy, but I gradually found my rhythm and the writing smoothed out. Perhaps the ending felt a bit rushed, but personally, I believe that something which begins out of interest should also conclude out of interest. Finishing a story properly, rather than dragging it out until everyone is weary, feels like the best way to go.
The initial premise of this book involved transmigrating into a piece of erotic fiction (/). In my original outline, there was meant to be a substantial amount of explicit content woven together with significant plot development.
However, before I could truly lay out my grand narrative structure, a storm of "industry standard" restrictions () blew in, forcing me into the embarrassing position of hastily digging up a new outline. The heartache and tears I shed over this change could fill a large vat myself. So, for those of you who felt a slight disconnect between the beginning and the latter parts, please forgive me; trust me, this deviation was certainly not my intention!
I’ve started a new project, driven again purely by interest. My main focus, the genre I truly write consistently in, remains ancient Chinese romance (). So, my dears who prefer historical tales, I will see you again in about half a year.
For those who enjoy genre-hopping (), I have launched a new book—a Quick Transmigration () novel. This means each story arc lasts about ten chapters, where the female lead constantly jumps into the plots of various novels, taking on the role of a cannon fodder side character or someone destined for a tragic end, changing her fate along the way. I’ve already completed several arcs in this one. The beauty of this structure is that it doesn't require the long wait for the story to mature (). Those interested can jump in now! I look forward to seeing your presence in the new book!
Although my husband insists that my frequent use of "mua" () is a sickness, I remain committed to marching down the path of incurable brainlessness. Dears, mua! RP
