"Could it have discovered me?" Chen Feng was startled in his heart. The speed of this Wyvern was astonishing; in the blink of an eye, it covered the nearly three li distance separating it from Chen Feng, pausing directly above his hiding spot before letting out a mighty roar and descending!
It had indeed been found!
Although Chen Feng couldn't fathom how he had been detected, the creature showed no hostility; instead, it appeared wildly excited. The Wyvern’s massive head stretched out before Chen Feng, its lantern-sized eyes brimming with sheer delight!
Chen Feng stood up. His appearance had drastically changed since he subdued them; his black hair had turned entirely red, and his entire aura had shifted. The fact that this Wyvern could still recognize him suggested that the Dragon Blood Sacrifice must possess some unique sensory ability to pinpoint his presence.
A thought struck him: perhaps these Wyverns, originally residing near Dragon Peak Mountain, had only managed to travel this arduous distance because they sensed him here?
The Wyvern let out a low growl and tilted its head toward its back, clearly inviting Chen Feng to mount. Chen Feng nodded and leaped directly onto the Wyvern's broad spine.
Seeing Chen Feng standing upon its back, the Wyvern seemed to feel an immense honor. With a powerful beat of its wings, it instantly soared into the sky!
The Wyvern accelerated abruptly to its top speed. The roaring wind rushed past his ears. Chen Feng, caught off guard on the creature's back, nearly lost his footing!
Falling now would be an absolute humiliation! Chen Feng quickly wiped the cold sweat beading on his forehead and glanced around. Fortunately, the other Pterodactyls remained bowed low to the ground, shielded from witnessing his awkward near-fall.
The Wyvern flew toward the center of the Pterodactyl flock. All the other Wyverns watched Chen Feng standing on the back of their leader, and in unison, they let out a long roar, all bowing deeply to the ground!
The sixteen Wyverns remaining on the ground were the backbone of the entire Pterodactyl assembly. In their eyes, any Wyvern that commanded even the Winged Dragon King to bow was unimaginably powerful. Thus, they were utterly astonished to see all of them prostrating themselves before a mere human in the air.
The Winged Dragon King, Leander, found it impossible to comprehend. He had personally experienced the draconic might of that peak Fifth-level Wyvern just moments ago—that crushing pressure that shattered the heart and spirit, instantly vaporizing any thought of resistance!
Yet, this incredibly powerful group of Wyverns was now performing the most solemn Prostration Rite of the Dragon Clan for an ordinary human. What on earth was happening? Leander shook his massive head, unable to reconcile the sight.
Chen Feng stood upon the Wyvern’s back, the wind from above whipping his long red hair into a spectacular, cool cascade. "Who is this..." Leander finally broke the silence, compelled to speak using human language.
A Wyvern nearby turned and let out a low growl. Leander first looked confused, then his immense body suddenly convulsed—it was impossible to tell if it was from tension or excitement.
"True Dragon Lord..." Leander stuttered, trembling with nervousness. His thick dragon legs buckled, and he collapsed onto the ground.
Chen Feng smiled faintly. The Flame Dragon bloodline within him stirred, releasing a wave of majestic draconic might that spread outward! However, he carefully controlled it, ensuring the Wyvern carrying him was unaffected, lest his disguise as a 'True Dragon' be ruined by a sudden, embarrassing tumble from the sky.
If the pressure from the Wyverns' earlier aura was like a hundred-pound stone resting on the Pterodactyls, then the pressure Chen Feng now emitted was a ten-thousand-ton boulder—the difference was incomparable!
If Leander had harbored any doubt before, now every thought of resistance was utterly annihilated from his mind! However, influenced by Chen Feng's current cultivation level, this draconic might only exerted significant effect within a thirty-meter radius. Apart from the Winged Dragon King, only a few neighboring Wyverns felt the direct impact; the rest seemed entirely unaffected.
Chen Feng retracted his dragon might as swiftly as he released it, fixing his gaze on the Winged Dragon King below. "How is it that you speak the human tongue?"
The Winged Dragon King, merely at the peak of the Fourth Level, speaking human language with clear logic and reasoned judgment, struck Chen Feng as highly unusual.
Leander replied, "In fact... I can also assume human form!" With that, he spat out a Dragon Core. The crimson core spun in the air before suddenly emitting a soft, red radiance. Under the glow, his massive body began to emit a series of cracking sounds. His thirty-plus-meter frame slowly shrunk, gradually transforming into a muscular, bald man about two meters tall!
Shapeshifting magic!
Leander, now in human form, spoke: "Reporting to the True Dragon Lord, the innate magic of every king in our Pterodactyl tribe differs. Mine happens to be the magic of Transformation, allowing me to change form and speak human languages!" Chen Feng understood and nodded, saying no more.
The Wyverns on the ground seemed to conclude some sort of ritual; they rose to their feet, flapped their wings, and flew to surround Chen Feng in the air. The peak Fifth-level Wyvern among them let out a deafening roar!
The thunderous sound carried to the ears of all the Pterodactyls, eliciting waves of answering cries. Chen Feng found this odd and beckoned for the bald man (Leander in human form) to climb onto the Wyvern’s back. Leander hesitated for a moment, but seeing that the flying Wyverns did not object, he leaped onto the creature's back.
"What did its roar just mean?" Chen Feng inquired. Since there was no Dragon Speaker present to translate, he had to rely on the Winged Dragon King for answers.
"Oh, the Dragon Lord means that your evolution, the success of your ascension, was entirely dependent on you! Therefore, all members of the Pterodactyl tribe must obey your command and direction!" Leander stated, fear creeping into his voice. Speaking to the True Dragon Lord from the back of a Wyvern filled him (using 'him' for the human form, 'it' for the dragon form) with immense tension!
The thousands of Pterodactyls surrounding them, having heard the leading Wyvern's roar, all rose up, as if in affirmation, and let out a simultaneous, long cry. This single roar, amplified by thousands of Wyvern voices, sounded like hundreds of lightning bolts striking in a clear sky, the sheer power of the sound waves making Chen Feng dizzy.
"They are welcoming the True Dragon Lord!" Leander explained.
"Welcoming?" Chen Feng’s face looked slightly green. Did the Dragon Clan welcome him by trying to shake him off the Wyvern’s back and deafen him with their roars?
Leander, oblivious to the strange color on Chen Feng's face, hurried on: "True Dragon Lord, it is the highest honor for our branch of the Pterodactyls to meet you. Please allow all my kin to perform this cheer three times to celebrate your arrival together!"
"..." By the time the Pterodactyl Clan completed its thrice-repeated welcome, Chen Feng was already reeling and utterly bewildered...
Through his conversation with the Winged Dragon King Leander, Chen Feng understood much more. These seventeen Wyverns were the ones that had previously left the Pterodactyl tribe. Leander had initially presumed they had met with disaster, which is why he had risked breaking ties with the Loki Empire. Who knew they had successfully advanced! The first Pterodactyl to arrive here was the tribesman who found the group of advancing Wyverns. It was this scout who returned with the news: seventeen Wyverns in the clan had suddenly evolved. What unprecedented glory! Thus, the Winged Dragon King personally led the host to wait for him here!
