The Southern Barbarian Ancestor, "Kuang," drew his bow, aiming at Ji Changkong. He held no arrow, but a blinding light flickered from the tip of the bow, channeling into the drawn curve, solidifying into a pure cyan bolt fashioned entirely from condensed essence and spirit. The arrow was wondrous, interwoven with the brilliance of the sun and moon, scattering starlight.
Kuang held the drawn bow pointed at Ji Changkong but did not strike immediately, his expression inscrutable.
Ji Du stood before Ji Changkong, shielding him while he remained in his strange state, glaring fiercely at Kuang and coldly demanding, "Do you take us for easy pickings?"
"You are the Plague Demon; I know the meaning of your existence. However, since we have arrived in the Chaotic Sea of Boundaries, we won't concern ourselves with whether you destroy our universe," Kuang chuckled dismissively. "Move aside. This arrow I launch won't take his life; it will merely strip away the power that does not belong to him from within his body."
The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon writhed its colossal body, arriving nearby. Its deep, booming voice resonated through the void: "Indeed. He has no feud with us, so we will not seek his life. Furthermore, he carries the scent of the Rong Tribe on him; I certainly won't go to the extent of total annihilation. Rest assured, I only require the Chaos Power within him—just one portion is enough. The Chaos Power is the medium for knowing the secret of the Source. I have waited so many years; it must be obtained!"
Ji Du transformed into a dense mass of viscous grey mist, encircling Ji Changkong. "If you obtain the Chaos Power, he will never again grasp the profound mysteries of the Source. For your own gain, you would harm another? I find your claims of being esteemed seniors and masters contemptible."
Kuang gave a slight, amused grimace, then suddenly spoke, "You little entity, you've actually evolved to be so human-like. That is rather interesting."
As he spoke, Kuang made no apparent move, yet the cyan arrow shot forth from the bow, instantly spanning the void between them.
The arrow flashed, and in the next moment, the cyan bolt pierced into Ji Changkong's body.
The cyan arrow seemed imbued with life. The moment it entered his body, it fractured into ten thousand threads, invading Ji Changkong's control over his physique like minute roots. The countless strands of cyan power that radiated out moved with inherent consciousness, surging toward his mind and chasing the Tianyuan Pearl within him.
It was clear that Kuang knew the location of the Tianyuan Pearl and understood the mystery behind the changes in Ji Changkong's soul.
Each of the myriad strands resulting from the cyan arrow's division carried a fragment of Kuang’s consciousness. At this moment, it was as if Kuang’s awareness had entered Ji Changkong’s body, using this force to attempt to peel away every power residing within him that did not belong.
Ji Du’s expression shifted, and he suddenly lunged toward Kuang.
The mist that was Ji Du billowed outward, and thousands of toxic vapours spread through the fog, intertwining to form a bizarre black curtain that enveloped Kuang from a distance.
"Don't push your luck," the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon roared, spitting out a sphere of light. This sphere was, in fact, a miniature sun, its surface continuously erupting with flares, releasing inexhaustible, terrifying explosive force.
The sphere was only the size of a human head, yet the condensed, entangled power within it was fearsome, carrying an intense heat capable of incinerating everything.
Ji Du's mist, before it could even near Kuang, was affected by the small sun. The essence he had painstakingly refined began to diminish rapidly under the influence of thousands of flares emanating from the tiny sun.
The experts at the Ultimate Chaos Realm were far more formidable than the likes of Nine-Tails. The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon was an ancient patriarch of the Sacred Beast lineage, possessing not only astonishing personal strength but also a profound understanding of the powers of heaven and earth, far surpassing Nine-Tails, Wood God, and their entourage. The light sphere he casually spat out was akin to a true star in the cosmos.
The Five-Clawed Golden Dragon excelled in manipulating the powers of heaven and earth, holding an innate grasp of the true nature of celestial bodies, which allowed him to condense a small sun with his own power.
Ji Du was trapped.
Under the radiance of the small sun, he posed no threat to Kuang whatsoever. He continuously compressed his power, attempting to condense it into a single point, but he could never achieve it.
Kuang smiled faintly, sparing Ji Du only a glance before returning his focus to Ji Changkong. "This lad truly has heaven-defying fortune."
Like the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon, several Ultimate experts from the same universe gathered around Kuang. A Wood Tribe expert among them urged, "Kuang, you can't keep this all to yourself!"
"Kuang, does he truly possess several types of Chaos Power?" the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon pressed eagerly.
"We, too, deeply understand Chaos Power, and we grasp a little of the Chaos Mysteries. But you surely wouldn't guess how many types of Chaos Mysteries he has acquired?" Kuang smiled. "Nine types in total. Nine Chaos Mysteries are gathered in his ocean of the soul, and if they manage to merge, even we might not be able to control him."
"Kuang, what we need is the key to communicating with the Source!" the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon reminded him.
"Relax. Within his body, there must be the main organs of Chaos," Kuang stated solemnly. "Besides the Eye of Chaos, I sense other presences. Give me some time, and I will find them all."
"Don't worry, Plague Demon. I'll keep watch; he won't stir up any major trouble," the Five-Clawed Golden Dragon boasted expansively.
Those surrounding Ji Changkong were all experts who cultivated Chaos Power and hailed from the same universe as him. These were all devout cultivators who knew of Chaos, as the power they cultivated originated from Chaos. They naturally believed that acquiring Chaos Power was the best way to communicate with the Source.
On the other side, those surrounding Osus were the experts from universes where magical civilizations existed, primarily because their own cultivation relied on the magical powers handed down by those traditions.
The same applied to Ling Meng's group.
Candice chanted an arcane incantation, and instantly, lightning, hurricanes, flames, and frost—four devastatingly forbidden curses—materialized in the void and bound together. This was a combined Forbidden Curse!
The four curses converged in a single area, instantly enveloping Osus and forming a strange, miniature world. Within this small world, lightning, hurricanes, flames, and frost raged wildly, controlled by Candice's will, writhing around Osus. The power capable of destroying a world ceaselessly collided, its intensity escalating.
Like Candice, several other great mages from the magical civilization also refused to be left behind. They unleashed other Forbidden Curses, including those involving Death, Earth, and Meteors, layering them onto the miniature world Candice had constructed, assaulting the interior and further enclosing Osus.
Outsiders could no longer see the scene within that world; they could only witness the violent clashes of various cosmic forces. With every impact, the world Candice created emitted an incredibly fierce wave of fluctuation.
Simultaneously, Ling Meng’s Master, along with several powerful Daoists clad in Daoist robes from the Daoist civilization, also moved to deal with Ling Meng.
The white-bearded old Daoist, being Ling Meng’s Master, had declared before acting that he would only take back the power that did not rightfully belong to Ling Meng.
Because of his declaration, the other old Daoists maintained some restraint. Instead of launching an indiscriminate assault like Candice’s group, they calmly released strands of peculiar vital energy, channeling them into Ling Meng’s body, intending to achieve their goal through peaceful means.
However, once the strange vital energy they released entered Ling Meng’s body, all their faces changed color.
Given their cultivation realm, they should be able to mold their vital energy into any form; even if they lost track of several stars, they wouldn't lose connection with the vital energy they projected. But after injecting their vital energy into Ling Meng’s body, it vanished without a trace; they could no longer sense their power.
This left the old Daoists rather astonished. With repeated murmurs of wonder, they employed other spells—various Daoist arts they had comprehended—one after another, striking Ling Meng’s body. Yet, Ling Meng’s body acted like a container capable of absorbing all power; no matter what Daoist art they used, the vital energy attached to it instantly dissipated the moment it neared Ling Meng.
After repeated attempts, all the old Daoists were dumbfounded. At the same moment,
the miniature world Candice had forged to imprison Osus collapsed. As all chaos subsided and returned to normal, the spellcasters, their minds buzzing with excitement, prepared to seize the residual power left by Osus’s demise.
The mist dissipated, and Osus was revealed, utterly unchanged! Osus stood with his eyes tightly closed, his entire body emitting a radiant, silvery glow. He maintained a contemplative stillness, holding his original posture.
These mages were struck dumb.
So many Forbidden Curses, including terrifying combined ones, had been cast upon Osus within a sealed world. After all that effort, they hadn't just failed to kill Osus; they hadn't even managed to injure him!
This was simply unbelievable.
The mages were on the verge of madness, their eyes shining as they began to contemplate other means to deal with Osus.
Similar to Osus was the liquid metal being, Number Nine. Experts from other universes were also attacking him. The two liquid metal beings accompanying Number Nine, while defending, were clearly no match for their opponents. Ultimately, those two liquid metal beings strangely liquefied and merged into Number Nine’s body.
After absorbing the bodies of the other two metal beings, Number Nine grew slightly larger. The metallic luster of his form remained unchanged as he stood motionless, allowing the attacks to rain down upon him.
Unfortunately, the successive bombardments from the surrounding experts proved futile. He remained unharmed, maintaining his original form.
Experts from various universes launched successive attacks, hoping to extract the powers of the four beings—Ji Changkong, Osus, Ling Meng, and Number Nine—to establish a mystical connection with the Source and thus glimpse higher-tier powers.
But their results were all the same: despite their strenuous efforts, they seemed incapable of obtaining what they desired.
The only one achieving any marginal success was Kuang's side. Kuang’s consciousness fractured into ten thousand pieces, traversing Ji Changkong's body until he finally located the Tianyuan Pearl. However, the area around the Tianyuan Pearl was enveloped by an extremely thick layer of fiery energy, making it impossible for his consciousness to penetrate.
After withdrawing a wisp of consciousness, Kuang immediately explained the situation, soliciting opinions from the others. "The Eye of Chaos is within his body; I found its exact location, but the Eye of Chaos is covered by Primordial Fire, making entry impossible for consciousness. We cannot use a consciousness body to strip the Eye of Chaos from his body; we must use an external sharp instrument to extract it."
He paused. "However, doing so means this lad won't remain unharmed."
"Are the other main organs of Chaos within the Eye of Chaos?" the Wood Tribe expert couldn't help but ask. "As far as I know, the Eye of Chaos forms its own realm, containing a vast heaven and earth capable of housing all things."
"I cannot be certain..." Kuang shook his head. "But I can sense other powers derived from Chaos on him. If my senses are correct, the other main organs of Chaos must be inside his body."
"Act!" the Wood Tribe expert stated grimly.
Kuang glanced at the others and saw them all nodding in agreement with the Wood Tribe expert’s suggestion.
In the vast cosmos...
The Ghost Mother of Heaven, residing in a world she constructed within a drifting meteor, was cultivating quietly, sensing the flow of various powers in heaven and earth.
Suddenly, a door ripped open, manifesting within the world she had built.
The Ghost Mother of Heaven gasped in alarm and sprang up, shouting, "Who is there?"
The remaining tribesmen of the Purgatory Ghost Race were hidden here. She had concealed her people to ensure their safety, knowing well that Nine-Tails, Wood God, and their group harbored intense hatred for her, fearing they might track them down.
A burly man strode out, his body churning with dark demonic energy, his face wreathed in black mist, seemingly emerging from the Nine Nether Demon Sea.
"Give me the Chaos Remnant Map in your possession. I must know the exact location of the Source," the man said gravely.
"Who are you?" the Ghost Mother of Heaven asked, her face sinister. She could clearly see the man, yet she experienced a bizarre illusion that this person did not exist within her space.
"I am Ji Haotian. I am Ji Changkong's father, and technically half-Divine Clan. I need the Chaos Remnant Map; I must reach the Source quickly," the man urged.
"Half-Divine Clan?" the Ghost Mother of Heaven exclaimed in surprise. She then took a deep breath, sensing the aura of blood emanating from Ji Haotian. After a moment, she conceded, "Indeed, there is the aura of the Divine Clan upon you."
"Give me the map; I need it," Ji Haotian continued. "I am running out of time; I still need to go to Wood God to seize other Chaos Remnant Maps. But the anomaly in the Source has already occurred; give it to me quickly!"
The Ghost Mother of Heaven’s expression shifted unpredictably; she hesitated.
"I have obtained Tyr’s spatial power and can move freely between universes, but I cannot freely traverse the path to the Source. I must obtain the Chaos Remnant Map to know the precise coordinates of the Source so I can travel there. Tyr, like Chaos, is a lifeform born from the Source. I must go and help Changkong—give it to me!" Ji Haotian spoke somewhat incoherently, showing great anxiety.
The Ghost Mother of Heaven shuddered, seemingly realizing something, and finally tossed the page of the Chaos Remnant Map in her hand to Ji Haotian.
"Thank you," Ji Haotian snatched it and turned to leave. As his figure shifted, countless spatial distortions appeared like doors, through which he passed one by one. In an instant, it seemed he had traveled through a dozen spaces, reaching the void billions of miles away.
Wood God and Yu Lian had just emerged from the Chaotic Sea of Boundaries.
A door opened in the void, and Ji Haotian poked his head out. With a sweep of his hand, several distinct spaces flew out into his palm, instantly imprisoning Wood God and Yu Lian.
Wood God and Yu Lian felt as if they were trapped in different spatial dimensions; the connection between the powers in their bodies was severed, making their limbs feel disjointed. Even their consciousnesses were thinking in different spaces, giving them a sensation of mental breakdown.
Ji Haotian was ruthless. After imprisoning Wood God and Yu Lian, he immediately sensed the storage bags on them. Tyr, who possessed spatial power, effortlessly retrieved the Chaos Remnant Map stored in the dead angles of their spatial bags, then ignored the two of them, flickered once, and vanished again.
In the Burial Ground, the sacred land of the Bone Tribe...
Ji Changkong traversed the void and reappeared, directly forcing his way into the forbidden retreat of the Old Skeleton Man. Using the same method, he unceremoniously seized the other page of the Chaos Remnant Map that the Old Skeleton Man cherished as a treasure.
Finally, the scattered pages of the Chaos Remnant Map were reunited. In Ji Haotian’s hands, the map pieced together to form a complete pattern.
As the pattern completed, brilliant golden light emanated from it. The Chaos Map seemed to instantly come alive, displaying the entire process of Chaos extinguishing worlds and then giving birth to life.
All manner of Chaos Mysteries were clearly revealed before Ji Haotian through the process of Chaos World Extinction, allowing him to gain a clear understanding of the entire sequence.
Various profound insights surfaced in Ji Haotian's mind. Just by gazing at the Chaos Map, he seemed to acquire incredible divine abilities.
After a while, Ji Haotian opened his eyes wide, tracing back from the initial point of Chaos World Extinction, and finally found it: the single point where Chaos originated.
He pointed a finger at that spot, and a marvelous world blossomed from that single point on the Chaos Map—that was the Source!
"Found you," Ji Haotian roared. His body transformed into an even smaller point of light, flying directly toward the luminous spot manifested on the Chaos Map. Waves of spatial distortion appeared one after another, but he effortlessly traversed them.
When his transformed light point contacted the light point within the Chaos Map, the map instantly condensed into a single point, instead being swallowed by the light point formed from his essence.
Within the Source, Ji Haotian’s imposing figure suddenly appeared.
This was precisely the moment Kuang and the others were preparing to strike Ji Changkong with full force.
"Stop!" Ji Haotian roared. His figure crossed the barrier of space, manifesting directly between Kuang and Ji Changkong. With his shout, multiple spaces erupted, partitioning the distance between Kuang and Ji Changkong.
Osus suddenly convulsed violently; he seemed to sense something and gradually began to awaken.
He opened his mouth, and the first person he looked at was Ji Haotian. "Excellent, you have finally arrived. You and I were originally one body; your arrival will allow me to become truly whole!"
