Fang Senyan stared at the images for a good ten seconds, and for some inexplicable reason, a profound dread washed over him! Cold sweat beaded on his forehead, for a massive enigma that had long lain dormant in his heart, like an iceberg, began to crumble and was utterly pierced through by the sheer volume of information delivered in those mere ten-plus seconds!
“All life, we can posit, is infused with a specific kind of power—let us call it Origin Energy. Since the Origin Point itself carries a relatively finite amount of Origin Energy, when it split into countless Base Points, it essentially divided the already scarce energy into innumerable portions. When these Base Points subsequently underwent a Big Bang, spawning countless parallel universes, this scarce Origin Energy had to be distributed across every vast cosmos, making it even rarer. This is the fundamental reason why life is such a luxury!”
After explaining why life is a luxury, the screen displayed images of the Origin Point and the Base Points.
Then, the relationship between them was illustrated using trees and seeds.
The Origin Point was like the tree, sacrificing its own annihilation to propagate a multitude of seeds.
More importantly, seeds originating from the same mother tree invariably share a commonality. Regardless of how many are sown or how varied the growing environments, the resulting plants exhibit strong shared characteristics. For instance, even though the seeds differ, rice always requires warm, humid conditions to grow; it never exceeds a meter in height, has small flowers, forms a head, and its seeds are edible, though they require hulling.
Likewise, seeds from the poppy will always yield large, vibrant flowers, and their seeds contain narcotic and addictive properties…
The parallel universes spawned by the explosion of a Base Point follow a similar pattern. All parallel universes evolving from the explosion of a Base Point derived from a single Origin Point are progressing through time in largely the same manner.
During this progression, certain elements might emerge that differentiate them from other parallel universes, but no matter how they develop, there will always be a significant number of identical crucial nodes! This is why parallel spaces are often referred to as mirror universes.
This is the fundamental reason why "history always follows its normal trajectory!" Even if certain unforeseen events occur, because these critical nodes support and drive the inertia of history, the universe continues to grow along the trajectory inherited from the Origin Point, propelled by inertia over time, preventing it from straying too far from other parallel universes. It is the same principle as how rice, even if some leaves are eaten by insects, can never grow into a poppy.
The next sentence to appear on the screen was the finishing stroke that caused Fang Senyan immense terror!!!
“Research indicates that crucial nodes within the universe can be events, such as World War II; objects, such as the Eiffel Tower or the World Trade Center; or even living beings, such as people.”
“And when beings and humans exist as crucial nodes, they constitute a very special category because they possess life, and life is a luxury within the universe. The essence of life is the Origin Energy possessed by the Origin Point itself!”
“Therefore, based on conclusive research, when a biological crucial node in a parallel universe dies unexpectedly (where 'unexpectedly' means: dying in a manner different from the death of that same being in other parallel universes), the Origin Energy sustaining its life—commonly known as soul energy—does not perish, but it also cannot be transferred to its successors.”
“However, since the Origin Point has not yet appeared, this energy will traverse dimensions based on proximity, entering the same beings in other parallel universes. Stated plainly, the biological crucial nodes in those other parallel universes are enhanced, and the closer the identical being is to the originating parallel universe, the greater the magnitude of enhancement received.”
Reading this far, Fang Senyan’s pupils contracted. His throat felt dry, desperately needing moisture, yet when he reached out several times for the water glass on the coffee table, he failed! Looking closely, he realized his hand was grasping in the air, thirty centimeters above the cup.
Such a basic error, one impossible even for an ordinary person, occurring to Fang Senyan, whose physical capabilities were several hundred times greater, was utterly unbelievable! This demonstrated the extreme level of tension and anxiety consuming him!
He lifted the cup and gulped down the clear water. A sigh of satisfaction finally escaped his parched throat, but the tension in his mind did not ease; instead, it intensified as the next lines of text appeared!
“The first selected experimental subject is: George Washington.”
“Reason for selection: The target holds eminent status as the Founding Father of the United States, an undeniable presence in world history. He suffered from infertility, meaning the probability of transmitting Origin Energy to a successor before his death was low.”
“Experiment content: Kill ten instances of George Washington across ten parallel universes.”
“Experimental results: Other George Washingtons located near these ten universes gained significant benefits, primarily manifested as increased lifespan. The historically documented George Washington lived to sixty-seven; following the experiment, the investigated George Washingtons showed a maximum lifespan increase to eighty-three years and a minimum increase to sixty-nine years—a noticeable enhancement.”
“The second selected experimental subject is…”
Upon seeing this, Fang Senyan abruptly closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
Because although he desperately wanted to continue reading, he knew he could not. He realized he was likely already caught in tremendous danger!! His previous mental agitation had caused him to overlook several astonishing details!
First, the team channel had somehow been severed. He was disconnected from the outside world.
Second, even the Flesh Armor, capable of rapidly shifting him across dimensions, was completely inert.
Finally, Prince Pompallu had still not appeared.
These accumulating mysteries were enough for Fang Senyan to judge his environment as disadvantageous.
And severely so. The enemy’s ability to sever the team channel suggested the scope of contractor abilities. However, rendering his Noah C-class spatial clone, the Flesh Armor, ineffective pointed toward methods operating at the spatial level. Since witnessing the horror within the consumed Noah Space, Fang Senyan understood the immeasurable power inherent in space, and consequently, how formidable any being capable of countering such power must be!
His only chance lay in the fact that this trap appeared to be incomplete, which explained Prince Pompallu’s continued absence. Once the Prince showed himself, the trap would fully close.
Fang Senyan was a man of extreme execution ability, especially when facing imminent death. He decisively lunged toward the floor-to-ceiling window obscured by curtains, his hand already clenched into a fist, glowing with light. This punch was delivered with his full power, as his life depended on it! Before him, not just a window, but even a retaining wall, he would gnaw a hole through it!
With a resounding boom, the punch landed true. The entire room shook violently; the crystal chandelier above swayed wildly, shattering into countless pieces. Yet, Fang Senyan’s punch failed to break the window! He instantly understood: the room’s material was specialized and perfectly monolithic, capable of diffusing force applied to a single point across the entire surface area.
Such technology was already used in bulletproof vests, but Prince Pompallu applying it to the exterior and interior of his office could only be described as extravagant. Manufacturing this specialized material caused the cost to double for every square meter added. Considering the size of this room, the sheer amount of resources expended was staggering.
Fang Senyan took another breath, the bones in his body audibly grinding. He unleashed another punch. After this strike, distinct cracks appeared clearly on the walls inside the room. Stone dust rained down, and even the power lines sputtered, sparking briefly with a crackling sound before the lights died out.
Without hesitation, Fang Senyan threw a third punch. Even with his incredibly tough physique, he felt sharp pain in several internal ligaments and coughed up a mouthful of blood. But his third punch was a desperate struggle for survival; reckless and using every last reserve of power!
Finally, the damned window exploded outward as if struck by a cannonball. Fang Senyan didn't pause; he leaped out. Only then did he realize that the structure housing Prince Pompallu’s office, once its disguise was removed, was a colossal self-propelled vehicle! It had traveled an unknown distance and was currently descending rapidly along a spiral track along the edge of an immense, dark cavern, at least ten kilometers in diameter!
The terrain resembled a gigantic, spiral sinkhole, cleverly concealed deep within a mountain interior. Fang Senyan felt a chill creep up his spine, for he clearly sensed that the floor of this enormous sinkhole, and even the pitch-black mountain walls beside it, were composed of damp, writhing organic matter! His mind conjured the image of a colossal demon lying asleep with its mouth wide open toward the sky, and himself perched precariously near its throat, poised to be swallowed at any moment.
Suddenly, this material reminded Fang Senyan of another fact—a fact that brought him to the brink of despair!
The ability to neutralize the power of the Flesh Armor implied a force at least equivalent to that of the Noah C-class Space.
The interior of the Noah Space was also composed entirely of organic matter, just like the material lining this "Demon’s Throat."
“Could this be the true face of the Big Ben Research Institute?” Fang Senyan muttered to himself. “Another Noah Space?”
