Reed’s left hand had completed its mission, but his right hand continued to stretch forward relentlessly, driven by an unyielding resolve until it clamped firmly onto the Reef’s chest with a sudden burst of strength!
However, for Reef, despite taking a heavy punch from the Green Giant that left his arms numb, he understood the grim consequence of being dragged over and refused to surrender passively. With a shout, he countered by grabbing the support pillar of the nearby breakwater. No matter how strong the legendary hero Reed was, he wasn't inherently a powerhouse, and trying to drag Reef away with one hand was overly ambitious. Thus, both parties immediately locked into a tense stalemate of pure strength.
Just then, the ground roared, and from the darkness hundreds of meters away, a monstrous, distorted, and colossal figure emerged. Its thick arms nearly scraped the ground, and two indescribable crimson lights glittered through the wind, rain, and tidal mist...
The Two-Headed Cyclops had finally appeared before them in its combat form!!
Simultaneously, a thunderous boom echoed from the sky—the sound of rocks manufactured by Mother Earth hurtling through the air at immense velocity! Only now did they realize the creature had made a throwing motion!
“Hm, it seems Three-Man has managed to contract a very powerful combatant,” Fang Senyan calmly assessed the fighting strength even at this moment; it was his first time witnessing the young Two-Headed Cyclops in action.
As the old saying goes, although the stones it hurled were ordinary, that absolutely did not mean their destructive power was negligible. It is common for a bird to bring down an airliner tens of thousands of times its size; once its flight speed reaches a certain threshold, it transforms into a devastating weapon capable of turning the mundane into the miraculous.
The stone projectile, shaped personally by Mother Earth, struck Reed’s rubberized hand. The rock immediately shattered, exploding with a bang into a wide spray of fragments that scattered violently, covering an area of several square meters, achieving a shrapnel-like area-of-effect kill.
Reed let out a muffled groan, his face contorted in pain, and he was immediately freed from the restraint as Reef successfully escaped. His right hand retracted just in time.
But as the Two-Headed Cyclops savagely hurled a second "gift," another figure emerging from the submarine shot forward to intercept the Green Giant. Large amounts of rock rapidly adhered to his feet, instantly transforming him into a robust, cube-shaped rock monster.
This creature met the Cyclops’s stone projectile. It was like an older brother welcoming a mischievous younger sibling home; he caught the projectile with one massive palm, and the stone dissolved into his rock skin as if it were ice cream. Nevertheless, the sheer force accompanying the impact knocked him back several paces.
It seemed the gap in power between the young Two-Headed Cyclops and its mature form was still significant. If its mother had been the one throwing, this creature would surely have had its very essence knocked out of it.
“This is a real headache. Another legendary figure has arrived—The Thing, Ben Grimm, from the Fantastic Four,” Fang Senyan muttered, backing up alongside Reef while observing the massive elemental stomp his right foot hard onto the ground.
Instantly, the rocks surrounding the enemy rose up, forming an elliptical fortification composed of interlocking stalagmites, successfully blocking external vision—and bullets, of course.
“This battle has turned rotten; an ambush has devolved into a close-quarters engagement. I just hope it doesn't turn into a rout,” Fang Senyan sighed helplessly. At this moment, Zi’s irate voice crackled over the team comms channel:
“Hey, how long do Moqingsha and I have to wait before we can make a move?”
When the battle began, Fang Senyan had warned Zi and Black Brother that unless he and Reef faced mortal danger, or until they had fully ascertained the enemy's potential, the two of them, being comparatively less survivable, should remain low-key. Zi was clearly growing impatient.
Fang Senyan signaled to Sue behind him, indicating for her to use her Invisible Woman power to link him telepathically with the two vampires and the Toad:
“Gentlemen, the legendary figures we are facing have now risen to three, and we cannot be certain if there are other targets... I need to confirm one thing: during the previous area suppression fire, was there any confirmation of damage done to their submarine?”
Soon, a response came back from one of the Vampire Earls:
“Yes, my blood servant confirmed he gave that submersible a few nasty hits. It’s a miracle the thing hasn’t sunk already.”
Fang Senyan sighed: “So, it seems this group of opponents has no retreat path. To be honest, our current strength is a bit thin, so I suggest we all withdraw. Otherwise, if another monster from the Fantastic Four pops out of that submarine, the only thing we’ll be planning is how to survive.”
“Retreat?? Absolutely impossible!” The two Vampire Earls roared simultaneously: “The Corrupted Holy Communion Knife is still in the hands of that green-skinned monster! Furthermore, the two of us have an advantage against Reed. Killing him isn't that difficult; it just requires a little time.”
Fang Senyan lamented: “The problem is Reed won’t come out for a one-on-one duel. His main role is to drag one of us under the Green Giant’s fists or massive feet, while that elemental provides defense, and the Green Giant attacks—a perfectly formed Iron Triangle. In fact, you all just witnessed it: coincidentally, my companion also specializes in earth-based attacks, making it very difficult for us to deal with that earth elemental.”
“You seem to have forgotten my existence!” Sue interjected with annoyance.
Fang Senyan replied with a touch of sarcasm: “That’s because you exhibited absolutely no presence in the previous fighting.”
Sue’s face immediately flushed with anger, and she retorted indignantly: “If I hadn't spent so much mental energy probing your mind earlier! How could I possibly have been unable to use any abilities just now? More importantly, have you performed exceptionally well in this fight?”
Fang Senyan gave a wry smile: “OK, OK, now is not the time for arguing. Tell me then, what exactly can you accomplish on the battlefield, and then we can discuss an operational plan.”
Sue took a deep breath: “I can cause both the Green Giant and Grimm to lose control of their bodies for five seconds! However, any damage inflicted upon them during that period might shorten the duration.”
“GOOD.” Fang Senyan snapped his fingers: “If you’re telling the truth…”
“What do you mean, ‘if you’re telling the truth’!! If I say I can do it, I can do it!” Sue nearly shrieked.
Fang Senyan turned to the two Vampire Earls: “Then, don’t forget our true objective. When she stuns these two monsters... taking the Tritium, oh, and of course, the Corrupted Holy Communion Knife will be left to you two?”
The Vampire Earls hesitated for a moment, then agreed.
“Next, Mr. Toad, perhaps you can try blinding the Green Giant’s other eye? That way, no matter how strong his regenerative ability is, he’ll be blind for at least a week,” the Toad rasped.
“No, no, at least a month, because I will habitually inject venom into the created wounds—but you must guarantee that Reef can cover me immediately after I strike,” the Toad clarified.
“That goes without saying,” Reef proudly patted his shield.
“Next…” Fang Senyan paused: “If any more legendary figures appear, then our remaining strength will be used to deal with them. If not… perhaps we can offer Mr. Reed a small surprise?”
The moment Fang Senyan finished speaking, no one expected the enemy to launch a full-scale offensive right then! The earth seemed to contort and spin terrifyingly, centered around the Earth Elemental.
Immediately following, a gale howled. Seeing Mr. Grimm the Earth Elemental slam both fists into the ground, the rocks covering his body exploded outward, mixing with the shattered rock fortifications surrounding their bodies. Within a few hundred meters, a scene of flying sand and stones erupted. Not only that, but the battlefield was instantly engulfed in a sandstorm, peppered with massive, basin-sized rocks hurtling about terrifyingly!
“Be careful, they are charging out!” Sue, her eyes tightly shut, shouted.
It was clear that the Fantastic Four and the Green Giant side understood that without reinforcements—or rather, because their own reinforcements were likely under heavy attack—a stalemate would only benefit the opposing side, making things much harder if the enemy’s backup arrived.
Honestly, this sudden charge truly caught Fang Senyan and his team by surprise! The Earth Elemental Grimm had sacrificed his defensive capability for this terrifying, dust-storm-like domain, which was a perfect match for supporting a tank-like brute such as the Green Giant to break through the encirclement!
But, Sue finally displayed her formidable power. A cool sensation suddenly washed over the minds of everyone on their side. Despite the flying sand and stones making it impossible to open their eyes, they possessed a view as if looking down from above, surveying the entire battlefield with perfect clarity.
Even more astonishingly, as they "saw" the Green Giant and Mr. Grimm the Earth Elemental, they clearly perceived the message transmitted by Sue:
“I will use my psychic stun ability in five seconds, and it will last for five seconds!”
Fang Senyan also noted that Mr. Grimm the Earth Elemental's earthen armor had shattered and dispersed throughout his domain, serving as critical anchor points for his control.
Suddenly, Three-Man piped up in the team channel to Fang Senyan: “Brother Yan! If possible, can we prioritize leaving Grimm behind? His ability is derived from the same source as the Two-Headed Cyclops's, and his is much more mature; he should be more helpful.”
