Looking at Qin’s face, Fang Senyan patiently explained, “Why did the government need to mobilize the entire strength of humanity to construct just four Noah’s Arks? Because they had no idea about the specifics of the catastrophe, so they had to design them based on the worst-case scenario for every possibility. Analyzing based on the information you provided, each Ark is built to withstand temperatures exceeding 1000 degrees Celsius, resist severe cold down to minus 80 degrees, endure water pressure at 10,000 meters deep, and supply fifty thousand people for a full five years. Over 90% of these specifications are actually redundant.”

Fang Senyan sighed again, “It’s a pity I have absolutely no way to tell the government the truth. First, why would they believe me? Second, if they did believe me, the more people saved, the greater the subsequent difficulty—oh, wait, the stronger the force sent in the future to correct this mistake might become!”

“That sounds plausible enough,” Qin said coldly. “But I don't believe you are entirely without selfish motives. Why won’t you open your mind and let me view your memories?”

Fang Senyan spread his hands, a wry smile on his face. “It’s not that I refuse to open up, it’s that you simply can’t get in, okay? I’ve already explained my origins—they are so unique you can’t possibly imagine. My memories also have protective barriers, something even your mentor, Professor X, acknowledged. Why are you still pushing this onto me?”

Qin said coldly, “In the end, you’re just too afraid.”

Fang Senyan smiled. “What is there for me to fear? I can open it for your probing anytime. If you have the ability to breach the blockade, that is.”

A fleeting, sharp gleam flashed in Qin’s eyes!! She was actually trying to read Fang Senyan’s memory again at that moment! Of course, Fang Senyan didn't care; all information pertaining to the ‘Space’ was shielded from plot characters.

More importantly, Fang Senyan had encountered psychics stronger than Qin attempting memory reading before: once with the Gypsy Fortune Teller Queen in the Caribbean world, and again recently during his battle with the Fool Test Subject.

The harsh reality was that everyone who dared to try had paid a heavy price. A very heavy price. The sole exception was Professor X, but that was likely due to the old man knowing when to stop.

As Qin painstakingly sifted through Fang Senyan’s memories, her mental energy rapidly depleted. Fang Senyan remained unperturbed, thinking it might be good for the girl to suffer a little and retreat in defeat. But just then, a sound seemed to emanate from the distant sea.

He turned his head. In his eyes, he saw Qin’s face turn pale and her gaze unfocused—she was clearly exerting her absolute limit. Yet, within her pupils, three indescribable bars resembling a cage had appeared. Most strangely, behind those bars, black flames of rage were burning!

Witnessing this anomaly, a realization struck Fang Senyan immediately: this woman was formidable! While her current power level was ordinary, her secondary personality was the incomparably powerful Dark Phoenix. A fifth-level mutant!! Keep in mind that even Magneto and Professor X were only fourth-level mutants.

She was currently suppressed because Professor X had used a mental cage to lock down her alternate personality. If it erupted, it would cause immense variables! Realizing this, Fang Senyan didn't hesitate and slapped her across the face! With a crisp slap, the stunned woman was knocked back into her primary persona. He then said seriously, “What are you spacing out for? The enemy is here!”

After taking the slap, the red mark on Qin’s cheek was clearly visible. Surprisingly, she didn't retaliate, merely staring blankly for a moment, perhaps still savoring the indescribable sensation of her secondary personality stirring. She then clutched her head and pointed toward the western sea, issuing a warning. Ten seconds later, a small submarine surfaced.

Immediately afterward, five figures stepped onto the landing platform. The one in the center was carrying a uniquely shaped briefcase that resembled a flower bud magnified several hundred times—it was the specialized container for Tritium described by Doc Ock.

Just as the group was preparing to make a move, a tense, suppressed voice crackled through the earpieces they were wearing: “Attention, the person carrying the case is Bruce Banner! That’s a powerful monster. Furthermore, the one walking at the very end should be Reed Richards, Mr. Fantastic from the Fantastic Four.”

“Bruce Banner?” Fang Senyan was momentarily stunned.

This fellow was also a scientist who suffered an accidental explosion during a gamma ray experiment, mutating his body after absorbing massive amounts of gamma radiation while protecting his colleagues. Whenever he became enraged and his heartbeat accelerated, he would transform into the berserk Hulk!

The Hulk’s power was astonishing: he possessed starfish-like regenerative capabilities, able to regrow his head if severed; he had chloroplasts, allowing him to strengthen himself through light; and the angrier he got, the stronger he became. Fang Senyan estimated this guy was at least on par with Magneto; even Wolverine wouldn’t be enough for him to fight. He hadn't expected his first engagement to involve such a tough nut to crack!

“Damn, we seem short on personnel. Should we call for backup?” a thought flashed through Fang Senyan’s mind.

Since this was their first strike tonight and the enemy was completely unprepared, they had split into three teams to maximize efficiency.

In this particular group, besides Fang Senyan and the others, there were three Vampire Counts, plus Qin and the mutant Toad, whose jumping ability was incredible, and whose tongue possessed terrifying destructive power. Now, it seemed there were already two legendary figures revealed, not to mention those yet to appear?

The crucial point was that their target, Tritium, was being held by the Hulk. If this fellow couldn't win and decided to flee, who besides Magneto and Professor X could stop him?

Just as Fang Senyan hesitated, the battle was initiated by the impatient Vampires. These arrogant creatures had been restrained for too long; one could say their inherent superiority complex as higher beings had always festered. Now that the enemy appeared, why wait any longer?

A piercing shriek rang out. To Fang Senyan’s ears, it was merely harsh, but to the enemy, it was an unmistakable ultrasonic attack launched by a Vampire Count. One could even see the ground water and stones making faint scraping sounds as the invisible ultrasound passed over them, before being violently agitated and shattered—a terrifying spectacle.

The person walking at the very front appeared to be an ordinary man. Under the effect of the powerful ultrasound, his body was blown forward flat on his face. Then his clothes were shredded piece by piece, and he was flung far away like a broken kite, moments from falling into the ten-meter-deep sea.

However, just then, Mr. Fantastic reacted instantly. He suddenly stretched his right hand backward, and that hand instantly elongated like rubber, snatching the unlucky fellow by the ankle and pulling him back from the brink of death.

Frankly, falling into the seawater in this wretched weather, even Fang Senyan before entering the 'Space' would have been in dire straits! Let alone an ordinary human? If Reed’s superhuman ability hadn't saved him, this man would immediately be fish food.

Immediately following, intense gunfire erupted from all directions. The attackers were all minions of the Vampires: Blood Servants.

Vampires usually had three options when biting prey: the most common was blood-drinking; the second was injecting venom, known as the Embrace, to breed the next generation of vampires; and the third was injecting their own blood.

Those injected with the blood became Blood Servants—fearless, loyal, and immune to pain and fatigue, but they required a new injection of blood every year.

The three Vampire Counts had brought their most elite Blood Servants—only fifteen or sixteen of them, yet their controlled firepower nearly equaled that of a company! They instantly unleashed hundreds of kilograms of Metal Storm ammunition. Smoke billowed, gunpowder filled the air, and fire even spread across the waves!

But as the shooting reached its peak, a massive green figure fiercely charged out, straight into the metal storm. The bullets striking his body merely sparked and ricocheted, and he instantly reached the nearest Blood Servant giant wielding a flamethrower, slamming a fist down.

The large man raised his arms to block, while two nearby Blood Servants drew their katanas, attempting a pincer movement. However, though the sword flashes were sharp, the keen blades struck the green giant’s skin as if hitting worn leather, only leaving two white marks.

The Hulk then performed a maneuver surprisingly nimble for his clumsy appearance. He shifted his punch to a grab, hooking his fingers under the giant’s left foot from below, yanking him off balance, then seizing his right foot with his other hand and tearing violently—he actually ripped the man in half with terrifying force!

A viscous substance, looking like a mixture of blood and oil, poured out, flooding the ground. Through the torn cross-section, one could clearly see the mutated internal organs of the Blood Servant—a texture that seemed partly fleshy and partly bizarre plastic, with sickening dark red and purple tissues writhing ceaselessly. Its life force was remarkably tenacious; even at this point, it hadn't completely died and kept struggling like a fish out of water.

One of his trusted men killed, a Vampire Count erupted in rage, screaming as he swooped down like a bat, his ten fingernails sharp as blades, his fangs clearly visible. The Hulk didn't even look at him, throwing a punch that compressed the air, creating a sound like thunderous explosion. (To be continued...)
