The only people left in the village were the old, the weak, the sick, and the disabled—some were even bedridden invalids, the type who wouldn't move unless their very life depended on it. During the ride, they were shaken half to death. On top of that, Black Dude had decisively stopped two or three times along the way, leaving the pickup truck’s bed at least half-filled with mud. Soaked by the cold wind, freezing rain, and mud that had almost turned to ice slag, they were practically in a semiconscious state.

Thus, Fang Senyan’s final act of self-sacrifice, aside from the vampires, was only witnessed by Zi and her group. It was a classic case of doing good deeds without seeking recognition.

Seeing the dire need of these townspeople for aid, and knowing the Cullen family had resided here for several years, it was incredibly difficult for them to stand by and do nothing. Reluctantly, they had to intervene. Edward Cullen remarked coldly, "It doesn't matter; finding them won't be difficult. Remember the scent of that gunman among them... their destination seems to be in the ravine below; they must be going to save that fellow who threw the car."

With that, the group finally settled down to tend to the injured. Carlisle Cullen, the head of the Cullen family, played the role of the town doctor, making it imperative for him to treat the wounded both by duty and propriety. At this moment, his face was grave, his mind relentlessly turning over that powerful will which resembled the sheer majesty of nature.

Alice Cullen, however, exclaimed in astonishment, "What are they running down there for? To save someone? Good heavens, even if we were caught in that, our bodies would surely be instantly torn to shreds. The high-speed churning mud and stones in a mudslide are like a blender spinning wildly out of control; no living thing could survive that level of assault. And on top of that, there was that massive boulder, weighing at least several hundred tons, coming down on top of them!"

Carlisle Cullen slowly responded, "Nothing in this world is absolute. I did observe that when that person was struck, he executed very standard protective maneuvers. At the very moment of impact, a strange black light flickered across his body, almost like the pattern of the Grim Reaper's scythe. The crucial thing is, when that giant rock hit him, it actually split down the middle!"

The members of the Cullen family gasped. Carlisle continued with gravity, "Furthermore, everything was going smoothly at the time; why did that Ford F-150 instantly stall? This incident appears to be an accident. But I can sense that some unseen force was propelling these events forward..."

In the utter blackness, there seemed to be despairing confinement everywhere. Before, behind, left, right, up, and down—all were choked by thick, viscous mud, interspersed with vividly green, broken pine branches. The pale white of the exposed branch cross-sections was clearly visible.

And less than ten centimeters in front of Fang Senyan’s eyes, the head of a Newfoundland caribou was suspended in the mud. Its noble fur, once coveted by society ladies, was saturated, and its large antlers were long broken, exposing blood-stained bone points. The entire head looked as if it had been gnawed by wolves, presenting large, irregular patches of mangled flesh.

If it weren't for the seemingly weak yet utterly unbreakable yellow light of the Life Link protecting Fang Senyan, his current predicament could only be described in two words: buried alive.

Compared to the earth-shattering impact of the mudslide overhead, Fang Senyan, buried at least thirty meters beneath the mud, was in a relatively calm environment. He could only judge from the tremors in the surrounding slurry that another series of ferocious impacts had occurred above, tamping down the earth around him until it became even harder and denser.

After being struck by the giant rock the first time, Fang Senyan immediately activated his new talent: Sigh of the Reaper. Imagine it: that colossal rock, weighing hundreds of tons, blasted down through the sludge, having accelerated for at least three or four kilometers, its kinetic impact reaching its absolute peak.

When Fang Senyan took that direct hit, his prized defenses and health points could only be described in four words: utterly insignificant!

Fortunately, Sigh of the Reaper activated instantly. Fang Senyan’s health dropped to 0%, but at the very moment of death, the remaining damage value was converted into healing, restoring 50% of his health.

Strictly speaking by the numbers, it was as if that massive mudslide rock had only knocked off 50% of Fang Senyan’s health, though it did force Sigh of the Reaper into a long cooldown.

This showed just how incredibly powerful Sigh of the Reaper was!

Having avoided that most fatal blow, Fang Senyan first activated Radiant Cure to counteract the sustained damage from being continuously swept along by the mudslide. As for suffocation, the common person's greatest fear, it was not a major issue for him; as long as he could breathe fresh air within an hour, he would be fine in that regard.

The next thing that caused Fang Senyan significant damage was the instant impact when the mudslide hit the bottom of the valley, which immediately pushed him into a near-death state, causing the reef on the other end of the Life Link to instantly lose half its health, startling him into immediately activating Radiant Cure to accelerate his recovery.

However, once Fang Senyan was buried deeper, the damage he received became weak and intermittent. The reef felt reassured; at this point, neither he nor Fang Senyan had used their Elixir of Honor—both were essentially their last resorts. Under these circumstances, they could probably last another two or three hours without issue.

Mudslides, by nature, arrive swiftly but depart quickly. They filled over half the valley below. As for the town of Forks, not even a trace of its former existence remained—it had clearly been relegated to the realm of history.

Fang Senyan was buried nearly thirty meters deep beneath the slurry in the valley. If conventional rescue methods were employed, it would be utterly futile; the most direct outcome would be holding a memorial service.

Even using excavators on that layer of slurry, digging out one section would immediately result in another large section flowing in from the side. Unless the entire valley was hollowed out, or they waited for the land to dry completely, it was truly impossible to deal with.

At this moment, it was time for Mr. Kurutgo to make his entrance. Under these circumstances, San Zai certainly couldn't continue sleeping soundly. He stood next to Kurutgo with bloodshot eyes. The latter immediately revealed his terrifying form as a two-headed, one-eyed giant. His single eye emitted a faint, hazy grey light. The mud struck by the beam writhed in an extremely bizarre manner, like a soft-bodied creature, then recoiled in terror in all directions, revealing a pitch-black tunnel.

Kuru popped a shelled walnut into his mouth, chewing it sweetly and smacking his lips incessantly. Tegu, however, looked down at San Zai with clear dissatisfaction, "Uncle, why do I have to do such trivial things?..."

Consequently, less than a minute later, Fang Senyan was directly hoisted onto Mr. Kurutgo's shoulder and dragged out. Although Fang Senyan looked utterly wretched and covered head-to-toe in mud, he appeared vigorous.

Zi then suggested moving to another location to recuperate, but Fang Senyan considered it and did not agree with her proposal. Instead, he decided to set up a rudimentary camp under the nearby rocks to rest first.

Since localized mudslides were still occurring, waiting in such a low-lying area still carried a risk of danger, causing some confusion among the others. However, seeing that Fang Senyan had made up his mind, they didn't press the issue.

After Fang Senyan escaped the near-death state, he immediately took a shower to wash off all the blood and grime, then wrapped himself comfortably in his sleepwear. With a stove blazing in the center of the tent, he finally said, "The reason I insisted on staying here is because I discovered some interesting things while helping to save this town."

Zi’s beautiful eyebrows knitted together, "It seems you noticed too; the naming of this town as Forks holds a deep significance. I saw a woman who shouldn't exist in this world: Bella Swan."

Fang Senyan nodded, "And when Morganza and I went to set the fire, we were attacked by a group of vampires. These vampires weren't malevolent; they were like hermits, belonging to a family organization called the Cullen family."

"Forks Town, the Cullen family vampires, Bella Swan... these three keywords form a triangle, firmly supporting another very famous movie: Twilight. The plot of this movie isn't complicated; it mainly narrates the emotional entanglement between an ordinary human girl and a group of bloodsuckers who only drink animal blood and restrain their own instincts."

"In the 2012 movie world, the presence of main characters from another film—this is something I've never encountered before. But logically and theoretically, we absolutely cannot deny that in the 2012 movie world, there is no Forks Town, no Cullen family vampires, and no Bella Swan..."

Saying this, Fang Senyan took a sip of the scalding hot, thick hot chocolate in front of him and sighed contentedly. He suddenly noticed Mr. Kurutgo next to him, biting his finger and drooling, and quickly chuckled, pouring a cup for him too: "Everyone should actually think about the circumstances under which we became involved with Forks Town?"

Black Dude immediately frowned, "Hmm, we chose to save people, rescuing the injured from the crashed long-distance bus, and then all these events occurred. Chief, are you implying that only those who initially chose the path of salvation might establish contact with the main characters from Twilight?"
