I couldn't think of anywhere else to go. Visiting Yun Yao's home was impractical since her mother was there, and I had no money for a hotel either. In the end, I brought Ouyang Qing back to my government office dorm room on the third floor.

Ouyang Qing sniffed the air upon entering and smirked, "Mmm... such a lovely fragrance. Someone's been here recently. Don't try denying it - was that girl you were with just now?"

I grabbed her hand and tried to pull her toward the bed, but she resisted playfully, "Let me go first. Who came by? Sounds like you're enjoying life on Liangshan far too much. Have you forgotten us completely?"

"I've been waiting day and night for you two to come visit," I protested while pulling her closer. "It's clearly your own perfume lingering in the room. Stop sniffing around like a curious kitten - let's get started already."

Ouyang Qing still refused to lie down, "Start what exactly? You're on duty right now. Having affairs during work hours is against regulations."

"What regulations?" I shot back. "You're my wife. When we choose to... well, that's our business."

She pondered for a moment, tilting her head in mock seriousness, "I'm really conflicted here. This might damage your government image. If those other women find out..." Her voice trailed off as she ducked under the blanket.

I knew she was teasing me and yanked her up onto the bed before stripping her clothes with swift efficiency. Ouyang Qing giggled seductively, using that infamous fox-like charm to entice me while murmuring, "Stop, you're the Director of the Investment Promotion Office. Such behavior is... inappropriate. Are you trying to get me in trouble? I might just resist you!"

In reality, she wasn't resisting at all - quite the opposite. Was this some elaborate performance she had planned? Just as we were about to merge completely in our primal heat, there came a sharp knock at the door.

Ouyang Qing jumped beneath the blanket with a startled squeak. Who could possibly be visiting me now? Had Ning Shixuan come to check up on me? No - she knew I had other wives and wouldn't dare interrupt this... Wait, she didn't even know Ouyang Qing was here!

I yanked open the door only to freeze in place. Not Ning or Yun Yao, but Liu from the office accompanied by two plainclothes police officers. This wasn't the first time - last week they'd tried to catch me in the kitchen with another officer's wife until Zhou Qiang showed up at the worst moment.

"What are you doing here?" I snapped, tugging my pants up. "Interrupting someone's private time is a very unbecoming act."

Liu ignored my irritation and barged forward, "Mr. Zhao, Ma Secretary's office was robbed last night. The police have traced it to internal sources and want to check every dorm room."

"Are you accusing me of stealing from Ma Secretary?" I countered.

"Or maybe you've moved the stolen goods somewhere else?"

"How can you be so certain? Isn't this just an excuse to frame me?"

Liu's face twitched before he recovered, "What are you implying Mr. Zhao? We're required to inspect all third-floor rooms. Mine was already done earlier. I noticed your door wasn't locked and thought we might as well start with yours."

I quickly scanned the room, my eyes widening in horror. There were suspicious items stashed beneath the bed - multiple women's undergarments among them. These weren't from Ning or Yun Yao for sure, but there were other families staying here occasionally. I'd never been careful about securing this room's key... Had Liu duplicated it?

Smiling politely at Liu, I suggested, "Why don't you check someone else first? Give me a few minutes to freshen up..." Mentally calculating how quickly I could toss these items into the icy waters of the Beilun River.

But before I could finish my sentence, Liu was already reaching for the door. "What are you afraid of?" he sneered. "If you weren't hiding anything, why resist a simple inspection?"

Blocking his path, I demanded, "You'll need a warrant first. We're public officials - let's at least follow basic legal procedures."

Liu raised his voice slightly, "Who needs warrants? This is just a routine check. Besides, these are police officers conducting the search with my assistance!"

Exasperated, I tried one last appeal, "Brother Liu, I've always valued your integrity. Why align yourself with these people? You're young and have such promising future ahead of you - don't let them ruin it for you."

Liu shoved past me violently, "Your words are useless Mr. Zhao. What about you? When will you finally learn to see things clearly before falling on a sword?"

With that dramatic gesture, he flung open the door and gestured to the officers, "Gentlemen, please proceed carefully. My colleague has a history of stealing women's intimate apparel - who knows what else might be hidden here. We must root out corruption swiftly for the people's sake!"

The police chuckled, "Don't worry sir, we're more thorough than sniffer dogs."

Ouyang Qing peeked from beneath the blanket, eyes flashing indignantly, "What are you doing?! I'll report this harassment!"

Three pairs of eyes suddenly locked onto her - and three sets of jaws dropped. This was their first encounter with such a mesmerizing figure: cascading dark hair spilling over white linens, tiny feet peeking from beneath the blanket, a face that could make men lose their souls.

Coughing pointedly as my trousers grew suspiciously stiff, I broke their trance by announcing, "Don't just gawk at my girlfriend. I'll have you report for public indecency. Now leave before she gets dressed."

The three officers snapped to attention but Liu's eyes remained fixed on Ouyang Qing with growing suspicion. Pointing an accusing finger, he hissed, "Who is that woman? What exactly are you up to Mr. Zhao? We've heard rumors about your... unconventional relationships!"

My blood boiled at this thinly-veiled accusation. As the police fixated on her exposed silhouette beneath the blanket, I knew their priorities had shifted drastically from finding stolen goods.
