Fang Senyan's method was actually rather simple and underhanded. This was because he had previously found a mineral stone that appeared quite rare from the leader of the Sinister Fabro. After Bokhan identified it, this object turned out to be something akin to amber trapping a living mosquito—rare, but not particularly valuable.
At that time, Fang Senyan remembered the liquid metal lifeform had shown significant interest in this thing, but it was quickly distracted by the abundance of Tear Stones, causing it to forget the matter. If presented now, there was a chance to lure it awake.
For the current Fang Senyan, what he lacked most was offensive power! That ability to finish a fight quickly!
And a terrifyingly enhanced +13 weapon, even if it was only a Deep Blue item, would possess enough threatening power to carve out a path for him—a path of survival!
So, after taking out the rare mineral, Fang Senyan unceremoniously dangled it near the slumbering metal sphere for a moment, then placed it flat upon the blade surface of the +7 West.
As the rare mineral approached, two small pseudopods suddenly materialized on the surface of the slumbering metal sphere, waving briefly in the air. Immediately following this, two large, frog-like legs formed beneath the sphere, and the body began to slowly rotate, seemingly searching for something.
Upon realizing Fang Senyan had placed the mineral flat onto the +7 West blade, the liquid metal lifeform executed a decisive frog-leap and landed directly onto the blade's edge, immediately engulfing and dissolving the mineral.
It then behaved like a small puppy that had snatched a bone, attempting to flee, but Fang Senyan pressed it firmly against the cutting edge. Fortunately, the entity did not resist, exhibiting a sense of placid acceptance, and smoothly dissolved into the body of the +7 West, making the weapon appear as if coated in a thin film. Subsequently, the weapon erupted in successive flashes of light, only to turn eerily dull and lusterless in the end!
Fang Senyan looked at the weapon again, and the light in his eyes sharpened with danger. This was because he had never imagined that a weapon, after being reinforced to +13, could possess such astonishing and terrifying destructive power!
Weapon: +13 (Dormant) West (IV Prototype. Special Enchantment Effect +6 Bonus) Status: Dormant (**The metallic lifeform is currently sleeping. Damage Value = 40% of Weapon Attack Power; Damage Attribute is Holy Type, and benefits from the owner's own critical hit attributes. +13 Additional Attribute Bonus: Edge (Rare Attribute, Temporary Draw, Duration 30 Days): When attacking an enemy, this weapon has a 33% chance to inflict an additional 800 points of damage. This damage is True Damage, but the Contractor has a 90% chance to ignore this damage. Equipment: Sharp (Passive). The sharp alloy steel blade of this weapon can pierce through most armor. When dealing damage to an enemy using this weapon, additional damage will be inflicted. Hint: The additional damage value is... Hint: The additional damage value ignores defense! The priority of this effect is Authoritative (Vampire Sandru's Heart +1 Priority). Equivalent to Crushing Blow. Special Ability: This is a sharp blade capable of dealing with both Vampires and Humans. Thus, if you satisfy its greed, you can temporarily gain permission to use it. You can permanently forfeit 1 point of a specified base attribute and pay 3000 Universal Points to forcibly use it while ignoring the requirements. Description: When any weapon can reach a +13 reinforcement level, it can only be described with two words: "Divine Artifact..." Fang Senyan roughly calculated the damage output of one swing from the +13 West and immediately sucked in a sharp breath.
Considering all bonuses, The average theoretical damage of the weapon is around 250 points, Followed by an additional 80~125 points of piercing damage that ignores defense via Sharp. If his Judgment declared the enemy an apostate or another kind of evil creature, there would be approximately another 100 points of Holy damage... Finally, if the Edge effect triggers, there would be an extra 800 points of True Damage!
By this calculation, if the enemy were a plot creature, a single swing could generate a theoretical damage output exceeding 1300 points! And because at least 900 points of this 1300 were damage that bypassed the opponent's defense, plus about 100 points of Holy damage, the actual damage dealt, compared to the theoretical damage, would suffer very little reduction from defensive capabilities.
With just one swing from the +13 West, even with bad luck, a long string of four sets of damage effect numbers would erupt (not counting Muscle Burst)!
If luck was on his side and both Crushing Blow and Edge triggered, it would result in an unprecedented single swing, where five sets of damage effect numbers would leap out side-by-side.
More terrifyingly, among the numbers that appeared, there would be the weighty 800 points of True Damage! If this wasn't ignored, for many spellcasting classes, this single figure could instantly kill them, leaving no chance to even use a potion!
Fang Senyan looked at the weapon, took a deep breath, and the light in his eyes flickered. His previous 40% chance of returning safely had now increased to seven-tenths certainty.
At this moment, everyone looked toward Fang Senyan, clearly waiting for him to make the decision: stay or leave? However, from the fiery intensity in their eyes, it was clear they already had their own plans; this inquiry was merely a gesture of respect for Fang Senyan's previous conduct.
The fundamental reason for the current situation was that the Cyborg Unit 1 had just successfully triangulated a position. According to the received positioning data, combined with the precise map acquired earlier, the straight-line distance from their current location to the plateau near the Mushroom Rock was not considered far.
Crucially, the majority of this journey could be completed quickly and effortlessly by utilizing another means of transport to reach the base of the plateau.
This "borrowed power" was certainly not upstream navigation using water currents. Rather, it was due to clear documentation in the spaceship's computer archives regarding an event—or more accurately, a seasonal phenomenon on the planet Eplos.
This planet was a place where the Predator species bred powerful prey. But the fiercer the creature, the more astonishing its appetite must be. Therefore, the Predators consciously cultivated large numbers of large herbivores at the bottom of the food chain, such as Gaur, Giant Sheep, and Wildebeest, to provide sufficient sustenance for those powerful beasts. Otherwise, if food became scarce, the fierce beasts would first begin to slaughter each other—what kind of trial would the Predators have then?
The Gaur, Giant Sheep, and Wildebeest were similar to Earth's cattle, sheep, and horses, but they were much larger, and naturally, their appetites were huge. Consequently, they needed to migrate to different vast grasslands throughout the year to feed.
Of course, the reason the vegetation in those massive grasslands grew so rapidly and astonishingly was due to the Predators having modified the soil in those regions.
It was currently early summer on Planet Eplos. Large numbers of Gaur, Giant Sheep, and Wildebeest would be stampeding through the valley adjacent to the Sinister Fabro territory, migrating from the spring grazing lands to the summer ones.
Their migration route would extend past the plateau where the Mushroom Rock was situated. This meant that Fang Senyan and his companions could ride these docile creatures, blending seamlessly into their vast migration horde, arriving safely and without incident near the plateau hosting the Mushroom Rock. From there, they would only need about an hour to board the returning Hornet aircraft.
This presented an immense ** opportunity for everyone! After all, Fang Senyan’s previous speculation about the Predators was just that—speculation.
More importantly, the technological gap between humans and Predators was not insurmountable. If one person took off and fled, they would be 100% caught. But if six people took off simultaneously and fled in different directions, putting aside whether the Predators could react in time, even if they did react, how many ships would they have available for pursuit?
It must be remembered that Fang Senyan and his group already knew that all the secondary ships aboard the Predators' mothership had been dispatched as a vanguard, and only one had survived passing through the spacetime wormhole. (To be continued) RQ
