The leader of the Sinister Fabro tribe was wreathed in tendrils of white smoke, resembling a half-burnt root ball. Despite his ferocious vitality and shameless willingness to use his subordinates as shields, the high-tech weaponry of the Iron-Blooded Aliens was no joke!
To put it plainly, while Fang Senyan hesitated to destroy it outright, thus keeping the creature from the absolute core of the blast, the damage was evident: the solid rock ground surrounding the Sinister Fabro leader was almost entirely dissolved to a depth of more than a foot, displaying clear signs of melting and even the formation of glassy substances—a testament to the explosion's terrifying power.
Yet, even now, neither Fang Senyan nor Ronnie could ascertain the Sinister Fabro leader's specific stats; the only reliable feedback returned was that its health pool remained approximately 70% intact.
However, this wasn't the greatest gain. The biggest win was that the weapon used by this leader was not the purple heavy metal totem, but the black giant tree totem. No matter how incredibly powerful the black giant tree totem was, or how greatly it amplified spells... it was still connected to the concept of "tree," and anything associated with that word usually spelled two things: "flammable."
Thus, during the preceding explosion, the Sinister Fabro leader was only concerned with protecting himself and neglected the totem. As a result, he now realized his favored weapon was tragically reduced to a mere stub, still smoldering miserably.
To Fang Senyan and the others, the remnants of the giant tree totem, magnified hundreds of times, looked exactly like the filter end of a freshly stubbed-out cigarette, still lazily puffing out reluctant, second-hand smoke. Dardanian even looked somewhat regretful, vaguely feeling that this thing might prove quite useful to him.
Time was of the essence for both parties:
Fang Senyan and his group needed to wrap up everything as quickly as possible before the Iron-Blooded Aliens located them. The Sinister Fabro leader, conversely, needed to hurry these intruders away to rescue his Kurut ore.
So, the confrontation erupted immediately, without any prelude or warning signs, plunging directly into a sharp, fierce melee!
The Sinister Fabro leader let out a terrifying, hoarse roar reminiscent of a bull's bellow and lunged directly at the Iron Golem and Ramtas, who charged first.
Amidst a screech of twisting metal, the Iron Golem’s arm was the first casualty; the thick, bucket-sized steel limb was brutally wrenched around a full one hundred and eighty degrees. Blinding sparks erupted, and the metal twisted into a corkscrew shape—it was clear the Golem was crippled right at the start.
As for Ramtas, it took a direct kick. Upon impact, a cascade of cracking bone sounds echoed through its massive frame, and it projectile-vomited great clots of rust-colored fluid mid-air.
However, three long spikes timely shot out from the back of Ramtas’s head toward the Sinister Fabro leader’s chest.
Two spikes were predictably deflected, but one managed to strike the leader’s chest, precisely where the burn marks were still smoking. It pierced straight in without resistance. Though the Sinister Fabro leader ripped the spike out with a backward motion, the barbs dragged away a mass of flesh and blood, eliciting continuous, pained roars.
Seeing this, the group's eyes immediately lit up. Clearly, while the creature’s defense was formidable, this explosion had scorched its surface defensive layer, meaning the burned areas possessed drastically reduced resilience. This was the perfect window to strike.
Fang Senyan moved first, hurling a Curse Potion. A toxic fog enveloped the target, but the impact of the shattering bottle sent a jolt through Fang Senyan: the creature possessed strong resistance to the concussive shockwave of the explosion. It was supposed to be stunned for 3 seconds with higher priority, but it only staggered for about one second. The slowing effect of the poison mist was even weakened to less than 10%!
This outcome suggested only one possibility: this creature was likely a high-tier Legendary being, perhaps on the same level as Paul the Kraken from the Caribbean Sea! That would explain such robust resistance.
Nevertheless, even a one-second stun was enough for Fang Senyan’s current powerful teammates to act. For instance, Ronnie had already applied the Mark of Death and was now lurking about five meters from the Sinister Fabro leader—an optimal distance, just outside the leader’s attack range but close enough for Ronnie to explode forward instantly.
Dardanian began launching five or six seeds. These seeds were deep black, thorny, and covered in dense barbs, looking viciously cruel. The Sinister Fabro leader crushed three of them with a single slap, but the remaining three managed to lodge themselves into the creature’s scorched wounds. They immediately rooted, their tendrils as tough as steel wire and as greedy as leeches, growing at an astonishing rate, causing the Sinister Fabro leader to roar in agony.
Just as the creature tried to charge forward, Pokan, his face pale, used his psychic power to envelop nearby earth clinging to a massive boulder, instantly forming a heavy stone ball three meters in diameter that rolled down with a thunderous rumble!
The Sinister Fabro leader had only advanced five or six meters when it encountered this new obstacle. It could only cross its arms over its head and brace for impact. It cried out in pain and was actually knocked backward over ten meters.
Seizing the opportunity, Aldaris sighted his moment and threw his dark-red, malevolent bone dagger: Foe of Mages! The unassuming weapon flashed through the darkness like a pale red fish, silently slipping into the Sinister Fabro leader’s lumbar spine from the side.
Foe of Mages was an extremely thin and sharp evil dagger, like a handleless blade. Once inserted, it sank at least ten centimeters deep, becoming invisible from the outside; removing it would require surgically cutting through the surrounding muscle.
After being pierced by Aldaris’s evil dagger, the effect could only be described as a persistent curse. Following a long incantation, a huge, bizarre sigil—at least a meter in diameter—materialized before Aldaris. Upon closer inspection, the sigil was woven from threads of white electric snakes, menacing and strange!
A faint, almost ethereal line appeared across this massive, uncanny symbol, subtly connecting to the Foe of Mages lodged in the Sinister Fabro leader’s waist. Suddenly, the sigil flashed brightly and slammed a piercing bolt of lightning down onto the leader’s head! The erratic current, immensely powerful, caused the Sinister Fabro leader’s entire body to convulse.
Furthermore, Fang Senyan had witnessed this trick before: approximately every five to ten seconds, this enormous, bizarre sigil would autonomously generate lightning to strike the enemy. The Foe of Mages acted as the targeting coordinate for the lightning rod, freeing Aldaris to retreat or cast other spells.
Not only that, Aldaris continued his chant, completing a deep blue rune before him. He then pointed, sending the rune floating toward Pokan, whose spiritual energy was nearly depleted.
The rune drifted toward Pokan and settled upon his staff. The next second, a faint, deep-blue ethereal line—as if from another plane—formed between the rune and the Foe of Mages, beginning to continuously siphon the Sinister Fabro leader's mental energy back to Pokan!
Of course, this dual-tasking reduced the power and increased the interval of the lightning strikes from the rune sigil, but revitalizing the highly capable support mage Pokan, who was starved for MP, was a gain that far outweighed the loss.
In a short time, Fang Senyan’s group had established a formidable, integrated offensive system, encompassing both defense and attack. However, even though the Sinister Fabro leader had been significantly weakened by Fang Senyan's design—not only reduced to 70% health, with surface defense damage, and his primary weapon gone—he was still a powerful, high-tier Legendary creature!
A blinding black light erupted from the two fleshy tumors on the shoulders of the Sinister Fabro leader, seemingly capable of swallowing the night itself. Immediately after, it raised its arms like a massive gorilla and roared toward the sky.
In that instant, everyone felt a bizarre sensation: the Sinister Fabro leader seemed to transform into a colossal black hole, generating an astonishing gravitational pull that threatened to devour them all.
Undeniably, everyone strained to resist. Just then, the Sinister Fabro leader let out a raspy, strange laugh; the gravitational pull on its body instantly vanished. Just as everyone let out a breath of relief, the leader roared again, and the terrifying attraction returned.
This cycle of tightening and loosening, of pulling and releasing, finally shattered all resistance! Ronnie, Paul, even Dardanian and Fang Senyan... in a single moment, they were all pulled together by an overwhelming gravitational force, positioning them directly in front of the Sinister Fabro leader. The creature let out a maniacal roar, its palms glowing with an intense black light, making it appear as if the space around its hands was about to shatter, as it slammed them down violently toward the group!
This was the perverse ability of a high-tier Legendary creature! It possessed the terrifying power to obliterate an entire team in an instant!!!! (To be continued)RQ
