The mere mention of a prison riot left the two guards stunned. The injured one managed to push himself up from the floor and moved toward the surveillance monitors. The one comforting Xiaoshu lunged forward first, settling into the monitoring control station and scanning every screen. Just as Bingyu had predicted, the violent felons locked behind the cages had been released by an unknown party and were now surging toward the control room—the very place where they stood.

"Damn it! Someone disabled the access control system and freed all the inmates!" the guard muttered, frowning deeply.

Hearing this, Xiaoshu stood up, gripping Li Taiming's collar, and snarled furiously, "You’re ruthless! Releasing all these criminals just to force him to kill!"

Li Taiming raised both hands in a gesture of surrender. "I've been right here with you all along. You should investigate whether I had any opportunity to commit a crime first."

"Where is the access control system located?" Xiaoshu asked the guard crossly after hearing Li Taiming's retort.

"The access control system is in the central control room. You have to enter through the main administrative building, take the elevator to the top floor; it's separated from the prison block," the guard replied.

"Shhh..." Li Taiming whistled again, a playful glint in his eye. "Now you believe I had nothing to do with it, right?"

Helpless, Xiaoshu let go of Li Taiming's collar, leaned sullenly over the control console, and fell silent.

"My intuition tells me that whoever killed those people on the recreation yard is also responsible for releasing the prisoners," Bingyu observed, analyzing the current dire situation as she watched Xiaoshu struggle with despair.

"They want to kill even more people and create zombies!" Xiaoshu added, head bowed.

"Agreed." Li Taiming spread his hands, saying humorously to Bingyu, "Since they were all going to die anyway, why not just finish off the rest yourself?"

The moment the words left his mouth, Xiaoshu snapped her head around, her eyes blazing red as she fixed her stare on Bingyu, looking as if she wanted to tear her into a thousand pieces like an ideological enemy. Startled by this sudden icy reception, Bingyu retreated slowly behind Li Taiming, peering at the furious man over his shoulder.

"Am I wrong?" Li Taiming turned to look at Xiaoshu. "Wait a moment, and if you see the woman who massacred the yard show up, and if she manages to kill all these high-security inmates first, then in half an hour, it will be us surrounded by the undead."

"Are we filming Resident Evil 6 now?" Seeing how slick Li Taiming was being, Xiaoshu surprisingly cooled down. She turned back to the monitors on the console, pulling up the video feed from the last few minutes on the computer.

The footage showed cell doors opening automatically, one after another. The inmates, clad in prison uniforms, slowly emerged from their rooms. Initially, there was a moment of silence, everyone looking at each other. Upon realizing no guards were moving to intervene, the situation erupted into chaos. Among them, a large man climbed onto a makeshift platform and roared to the crowd: "Death is here! We are all going to die! I saw a woman from the skylight of my cell—she was wielding a scythe and within ten minutes, she had wiped out all the brothers taking recreation on the yard. Then, her accomplice piled up the bodies and set them on fire with gasoline. But that’s not the most hateful part. The worst thing is, Little Stone crawled out of the fire, begging for help, and those people just stood there apathetically watching him burn alive!"

The entire prison exploded into an uproar. Someone in the crowd shouted, "They're in the control room!"

And so, the inmates rushed toward the control room like a tide. Every iron gate along their path stood wide open, as if someone had deliberately cleared the obstacles for them in advance.
