I paced agonizingly in the cramped, two-person dorm room, the fever cure found, but the problem remained: how to administer the 'medicine.' The issue was the 'medicine' itself was too unique. If it were Yi Xiaorou, I wouldn't hesitate—I’d just take her. But this was Elena, the daughter of the American shipping magnate, a scientist, arguably an enemy of our Great Dragon Country. And I had slept with her while she was burning up and unconscious. What was that? I’d never forced myself on anyone; I’d only ever been forced upon.
If physical contact was out for administering the 'medicine,' there were two options. One, I extract it myself and drip it into her... there bit by bit. The second option was also me extracting it, then having her drink it. The latter method had been verified by Yi Xiaorou as equally effective, though not quite as potent as direct administration, but surely it would handle a common cold and fever, right?
Damn it, I couldn't contact home now. Otherwise, I’d just carry Elena back. Home had every conceivable medicine; even if she were barely clinging to life now—no, even if she were already dead—they could save her. Right, if Elena were in any danger and tragically died, I couldn’t bring her back, as the time-space machine couldn't recognize cells that had turned from living to dead.
After much consideration, I decided to ask Elena for her consent first. So, I shook her body vigorously. Of course, I had already covered her body with a quilt; otherwise, the violent jostling might make me lose control and do something wrong.
“Elena, I need to treat your illness, and that might involve an unusual relationship between us. I’ll give you two choices now. One: we have genuine, intimate intercourse—just like you said, a one-night stand. I save you, you pay me, we owe each other nothing, and we never cross paths again. Two: I use an unconventional method to feed you a special medicinal drug. You’ve probably never heard of this medicine, but it’s incredibly effective. My wives have all verified it; besides curing illness, it also beautifies and enhances the bust. All things considered, you win no matter what. You decide which method to choose.”
Elena mumbled drowsily, “What? Do whatever you want. I trust you.”
Her complete trust made it even harder for me to act. I paced the room again, turned back, and shook Elena. “If you don’t want the treatment method I described, shake your head. If you want one of the two methods I just mentioned, choose one. Nod once for method one, nod twice for method two.”
Truthfully, I was terrified she’d pick option two, for reasons I couldn't disclose to outsiders. Considering how often I switched partners night after night, if they were to extract the 'medicine,' they wouldn't hesitate through any hardship. But asking myself to do it—I didn't know if I had the capacity. I doubted I could manage it in under an hour, and without special stimulation, whether I could even get hard was questionable.
Thankfully, Elena nodded once. Just as I was about to rejoice, I saw her head nodding continuously. I quickly pressed her down; never mind which number she chose, I didn't want to drive her insane! “Elena, which number do you want? Are you suggesting one followed by two?”
Elena was already completely disoriented. “My head hurts. Am I dying? It’s so hot, so hot! Am I in a fire? Don't roast me...”
What kind of cold was this? She was laughing and chatting with me moments ago, but looking at her now, her fever had spiked that high. Could a common cold virus from six thousand years ago be this potent? Still, I couldn’t wait any longer. Elena's body temperature was probably near 40 degrees Celsius now; if I let it climb higher, I feared even ginseng and Lingzhi mushrooms wouldn't help.
Screw it! At worst, I’d be guilty of rape. At worst, I’d marry another American wife and bring her home. Perhaps my mother would even praise me for being capable, not only handling our country’s girls but also managing foreign ones. That would be cause for celebration, considering how many Dragon Country girls used to cling to rich old foreign men.
Making up my mind, I solemnly addressed Elena, “Elena, I don’t care about your status—whether you’re the shipping magnate’s daughter or a scientist. Right now, you are just a patient, and I am a senior military doctor of the Great Dragon Country. To treat you, we need to have relations now. Since you can't make a rational choice, I’ll decide for you. We will have proper intercourse, and then I will inject the medicine into your system. If you feel you were taken advantage of, you can do me a hundred times when you wake up. If you feel you benefited, I’m a generous person, and I won’t press charges over this small loss. Alright, enough talk. Undress.”
My clothes were easy; I pulled down the snakeskin skirt and tossed it aside. Starting tomorrow, there was no need for that garment. With clothes made of highly supple fabric available, why keep this primitive attire?
The treatment process was naturally arduous, but thankfully, my tireless efforts were not in vain. After cleaning up all traces of the 'crime,' I lay down on the nearby bed. The overhead light was bright; even if explosions occurred elsewhere, the illumination here remained unaffected. My mind was in chaos.
This was probably akin to a child stealing food; the first time always brought fear and worry. The girls before this were all open affairs. Even with Zhao Fen, I was unconscious, and it wasn't until much later that I realized what had happened, so I didn't feel this kind of guilt.
I had expected this mission to be incredibly difficult. The Earth is vast; who knew where Elena would be teleported? Who knew if she arrived in the same time period as us? Who knew if she was already dead? Yet, here I was, not having taken a single step forward, finding her in the primitive people’s pigsty, and having relations with her without her knowledge. What would I do now?
My head was full of questions. After much thought, I finally drifted off, but I was soon jolted awake. “Ah! Where is this? Have we returned to modern times? Zhao Qian! Wake up, where are we?”
My heart leaped as I opened my eyes. Elena was standing alive before me. Although I had cleaned her snakeskin dress and redressed her after the act, judging by her current appearance—her soft breasts partially exposed, her skirt missing somewhere—she was incredibly alluring.
“This is the Serpent Clan base we saw yesterday evening. You had a high fever, so I carried you in here. I didn't expect they’d have a high-class hotel setup. I just moved in without asking. How are you adjusting?”
Elena finally noticed her dress was gone and quickly pulled the quilt over her body. “It’s alright. I’m fine now, no fever, no discomfort, and my headache is gone. What medicine did you use? It’s so effective! You must have gotten it from the prehistoric people, right? Their medicine is truly advanced. In our time, it probably wouldn't work this fast.”
I casually replied, “Yes, yes, their medicine is indeed excellent. I just grabbed some things randomly, and unexpectedly, they hit the mark. You’re very lucky.”
Elena clutched her lower abdomen. “The effect is good, but for some reason, my stomach hurts a little, and down there feels very uncomfortable. You didn't take advantage of me while I was unconscious and do something shameful, did you? You don't seem that despicable, shameless, or lewd.”
Hearing Elena say that, the words I was prepared to use for a full confession suddenly choked in my throat. Forget it. If I can hide it for a while, I’ll hide it. Maybe when she's better in a few days, she’ll accept this news more easily.
Elena currently had no time for other matters. “Hurry and take me to see the real prehistoric people. I have so many questions.”
I said, “You rest. They’ve all fled. They left in a spaceship, and I couldn't catch them. If you want a tour of the place, I can guide you.”
Elena sounded disappointed. “Ah, is that so? Why did they run away? Did you treat them poorly?”
I said, “I never even met them. They had an internal conflict, fighting amongst themselves. When I was carrying you around looking for medicine, I had no energy to fight them.”
Elena expressed gratitude. “Thank you, Zhao Qian. You saved me again. I will never forget you. Okay, I see some clothes over there. Are these for me? If so, I want to change. You know what to do, right?”
It seemed only a savage environment could foster such openness. Just like how open Elena was near the primitive pigsty—she was still quite open the day before yesterday, and yesterday too—but the moment she entered this civilized space, she immediately reverted to her scientist persona. Alas, even though I secretly slept with her, I probably won't get another easy opportunity. I wonder if I can still drink fresh milk? I miss it terribly. I should have drunk more earlier.
I took a set of clothes and went outside to change. Shortly after, Elena bounced out of the room, hopping. “This is wonderful! These clothes are incredibly comfortable to wear, much better than the fabric from our era. Let’s go, take me on a tour of this place.”
When I took Elena to the large specimen room, she was stunned. I explained my theories to her, and Elena highly praised them. “I completely agree with your speculation. We can think even deeper: perhaps the prehistoric hyper-civilized humans didn't originate from Earth. The survival environment on their planet might be slightly different from ours. To better sustain themselves, they devised methods of combining human and beast genes to create a new type of human. Maybe this experiment was never fully completed, and now their Serpent Clan experimental base is destroyed. Who knows what will happen next.”
I agreed with Elena’s assessment. “I strongly support your view. We must continue advancing in the direction we planned. I believe we will definitely find their main nest. Even if we don't, we’ll eventually return here, because the Earth is round.”
After that, Elena and I began frantic preparations. Although the base had suffered a massive explosion, the remaining items inside would be extremely useful for our days ahead. Elena and I each grabbed a large bag and dove into room after room to collect anything useful.
Water was an essential item to carry. We couldn’t find canteens, but we found several large bottles with caps. We don’t know what metal they are made of, but they are light and sturdy. We filled several bottles with water, confident that it would last long enough to cross the great grassland.
As for food, that remained unresolved. There was a kitchen, but Elena and I checked it. Inside, there were only a few food synthesis machines. We couldn’t fathom the taste preferences of these Serpent people; the synthesized food was so repulsive it made us want to vomit. We’d rather starve than smell that odor again.
What made Elena happy was finding several sets of uniforms. Clearly, these uniforms would be very useful for highlighting Elena’s sexy figure, unlike the few loose, oversized items she was currently wearing. Elena stuffed all those clothes into her bag, a stark contrast to her suggestion of instituting a nudist system just the day before yesterday.
When we emerged from the base, carrying our heavy bags, the sun was just rising in the east. Elena exclaimed, “I finally see the sun again! Before I succumbed to the fever last night, I thought I’d never see it again! I love you, Sun! But where is your good friend, the Moon? Where did it go?”
No one answered Elena. The vast area held only scattered embers; there was no other sign of activity. The Serpent people had retreated very quickly last night. The only ones left behind were those three guys, but now they, like the Serpent people lying on the ground, would never wake up again.
As for the three laser rifles, I naturally had to carry them with me. I gave one to Elena and taught her how to use it. It might be crucial in a pinch. This primitive age wasn’t an amusement park; we had to be constantly vigilant, or a single mistake could lead to irreparable disaster.
Elena set her bag on the ground and told me, “Zhao Qian, the bag is too heavy; I can’t carry it.”
Although I only acted to save Elena last night, for some reason, I still carried a sense of guilt towards her, so I picked up her bag. “It’s fine, I’ll help you.”
Elena smiled again. “Also, my energy hasn't recovered. You need to keep carrying me, otherwise my turtle-like pace will slow us down.”
We had found the Serpent people’s shoes. Though they differed somewhat from the shoes of our era, they were sufficient to cover our feet, so we no longer needed to fear being poked by grass roots. As for Elena, she looked completely energized. In fact, whatever minor physical ailments she might have had before were now completely gone. My ‘medicine’ was Substance B; it could even suppress the terrifying mutation virus, let alone a common cold or minor fatigue.
However, I genuinely enjoyed Elena acting spoiled towards me like this, even finding myself hoping she’d let me carry her all the way back to the modern age. So, I tied the two bags together, hanging them on either side of my neck, crouched down, and said to Elena, “Hop on. Let’s keep moving.”
“Yay!” Elena cheered and jumped onto my back. “Zhao Qian, you’re so good to me! Powerful men are quite likable, aren’t they? An ordinary person couldn't carry two large bags plus a living person and still move so easily.”
I prompted Elena, “Have you started liking me? I don't mind breaking the limit of eleven, if you'd consider it sometime.”
Elena said smugly from my back, “I can consider it, but it depends on your performance. And when we get back, I need to meet the eleven girlfriends you’ve slept with. I’m afraid you just gathered a bunch of rejects to pad the count, you jerk.”
Sigh. Was that necessary? “Fine, I’ll introduce you when we get back. I’m sure you’ll like them, and maybe even join their ranks.”
“Dream on! I can hang out for a one-night stand, but spending the rest of my life tied to a stove, cooking, and raising babies for you? Not a chance, even if you kill me.”
“Your concept is narrow-minded. Who says I marry wives just to do laundry, cook, give birth, and handle housework? They have very important jobs. If it weren't for them, you’d be dead in primitive society, and maybe one day in six thousand years, they’d dig up your skeleton.”
Elena was unconcerned. “I know my father will send people to rescue me, so I’m not worried at all.”
