The two Holy Beasts seemed to have genuinely sparked a flame between them. Their confrontation was straightforward and direct, reckless yet possessing a primal beauty of pure force.
Yet, what puzzled He Yiming and Chu Haozhou was that the battle appeared to rely solely on physical collision; there were no other auxiliary techniques employed.
The White Horse did not unleash its lightning mastery, nor did the Black Shark King utilize its fangs or its formidable water manipulation.
They were like two gladiators of vastly different sizes, engaging in a duel using only their most fundamental strengths.
Exchanging glances, He Yiming and Chu Haozhou felt a secret astonishment. They had long known the White Horse’s power, but its most awe-inspiring attributes had always been its lightning abilities and unparalleled speed. While its raw strength and thick hide had certainly left deep impressions, these were often overshadowed by the sheer exaggeration of the former two powers.
Only at this moment, when the White Horse and the Black Shark King inexplicably went mad and began grappling, did they realize that the White Horse’s strength, having ascended to the rank of Holy Beast, had reached a staggering level.
He Yiming shook his head slightly. He then recalled that the White Horse had once kicked the Six-Legged Monster, another Holy Beast, flying with a single stomp. In retrospect, he should have sensed this possibility starting from that very moment.
The seawater across the entire area had been churned into a thick slurry by the two Holy Beasts. The large and small schools of sharks that had been lurking in the distance had long since fled in terror.
The appearance of a Holy Beast capable of confronting their king was, for those shark schools, undoubtedly as terrifying as the sky collapsing upon them.
The colossal shark finally got worked up. It suddenly turned, its massive tail swinging out like a steel plate.
Though its bulk was immense, its movements were equally agile, especially so when submerged in water.
The White Horse, caught off guard, was slammed hard by this sweeping tail strike. Its body flew backward like a meteor.
Having been charging forward only to be ambushed, even the White Horse suffered a major setback.
The enraged White Horse’s eyes seemed to turn slightly red. Once the force applied to it dissipated, it immediately regained its footing, but this time, rings of purple light pulsed outwards from its body.
These circles of light shimmered around it, illuminating a wide area with perfect clarity. It was as if they had entered a mysterious domain, the strange purple radiance exuding boundless charm.
Suddenly, a mass of blackness surged around the Black Shark King. Under its manipulation, the seabed water seemed to solidify into tangible blocks, mirroring the White Horse’s display.
The auras of both Holy Beasts inflated further. He Yiming felt the change, his heart filled with surprise.
With a thought, he pulled a fist-sized, purple-gold sphere from his robes.
Chu Haozhou’s expression shifted slightly. “Brother, as the White Horse and the Black Shark King fight their decisive battle, if you intervene now, it might become displeased.”
He Yiming shook his head. “We did not come here to oppose this Black Shark King. You have witnessed its might; it is far stronger than ordinary Holy Beasts. What just happened was merely an appetizer—two divine beasts playing around, not getting serious. But what follows will likely be a life-or-death struggle, and I cannot allow Thunder to fall into danger for this reason.”
Chu Haozhou hesitated for a moment before finally nodding slightly and remaining silent.
He Yiming slowly channeled his Earth Element True Qi into the Thunder Shocking Pearl in his hand. Although he possessed many ways to assist the White Horse, since he had acquired this divine artifact, he naturally wished to test its power in actual combat.
And the Black Shark King before him was undoubtedly the best target.
As the Earth Element True Qi circulated, the contained lightning power was slowly drawn out by He Yiming.
The Thunder Shocking Pearl shimmered with an unusual light. This radiance was not purple like that on the White Horse’s horn, but instead, comprised pure white streaks, light seemingly devoid of any impurity.
Chu Haozhou’s face changed slightly, and he quickly retreated. So too did Bai Lingba, who had already retrieved the Precious Pig from the White Horse.
This fellow feared nothing—not heaven, not earth, and would even dare to take a stroll inside the Black Shark King’s mouth—yet he held a slight apprehension toward the power of lightning.
In just a few breaths, an overwhelmingly powerful majesty emanated from He Yiming, or rather, from his hand.
Once this majesty erupted, it soared skyward, uncontrollable. Even if He Yiming wished to subtly suppress it and prevent the Black Shark King from noticing, launching a surprise attack was impossible.
The Holy Beast Black Shark King immediately sensed the immense power emanating from He Yiming. It swiftly turned its body, its enormous eyes fixed on the minuscule He Yiming, revealing a flicker of horror within them.
In millennia, this was the first time it had encountered something whose sheer presence could overwhelm its own. Given its intelligence, it instantly understood that this object must be extraordinary, certainly not something it could ignore.
The lightning on the White Horse’s horn ceased. It seemed to forget its formidable adversary, focusing instead on the Thunder Shocking Pearl in He Yiming’s hand.
This artifact’s ability to accumulate power owed something to the White Horse, so it too was eager to see the terrifying might this object could unleash.
The area surrounding the Black Shark King grew darker and denser. As the majesty emanating from the sphere in He Yiming’s hand steadily increased, it could no longer hold back and charged toward He Yiming.
It knew that if it allowed the situation to continue unchecked, or hesitated, by the time the object fully released its power, it might not even have the courage left to fight.
He Yiming’s vision momentarily went black as the massive mountain of fish descended upon him.
A faint, curious smile played on his lips as He Yiming extended his hand flat before him.
The next moment, a brilliant glare erupted before him as countless white arcs of electricity shot forth from the Thunder Shocking Pearl.
Even beneath the ocean, countless serpentine electric arcs, visible to the naked eye, danced wildly.
These electrical bolts seemed endless, rushing out of the Thunder Shocking Pearl in a frenzied race, spreading at an unbelievable speed.
The black fish mountain before him became the primary target of the lightning. For an instant, silver snakes writhed madly, lashing like whips, shattering the solidified black mass into pieces.
In mere seconds, the black water masses solidified around the Black Shark King vanished under the assault of the lightning. The frenzied electrical power continued to pound relentlessly against the Black Shark King’s hill-sized body.
The Black Shark King convulsed violently, emitting strange fluctuations from its maw. Though He Yiming paid no mind to the meaning of these sounds, he had a distinct feeling that the Black Shark King was enduring excruciating agony.
He Yiming flipped his left hand, and the Five Elements Ring appeared. Just as he was about to press his advantage, he suddenly realized that his immediate surroundings were sealed off by countless bolts of lightning.
Perhaps due to holding the Thunder Shocking Pearl, no lightning manifested within a three-meter radius around him. But beyond that boundary, it was like hell: infinite lightning crisscrossed the water, and a dense aura of death permeated every corner.
Faced with such a terrifying spectacle, even He Yiming gasped sharply.
However, being deep underwater, that sharp intake of breath turned into a mouthful of bitter seawater.
For a full quarter of an hour, He Yiming stood rooted to the spot, daring not to move.
He recalled the flames of the Nine Dragon Furnace from days past. While the current electrical might could not yet compare to the Nine Dragon Furnace’s fire, it was still overwhelmingly powerful and difficult to resist.
Before fully grasping the specific capabilities of this divine artifact, He Yiming dared not act rashly.
Finally, the lightning outside began to dissipate, the wildly dancing silver snakes gradually vanished, and the Thunder Shocking Pearl, which had been continuously releasing electrical energy, finally fell silent.
The colossal behemoth before him was still convulsing as if having an epileptic fit. Its skin remained pitch black, but countless cracks were clearly visible beneath the surface.
Having inexplicably endured a full blast of lightning, the Black Shark King, while not dead, was certainly in dire straits. Losing a significant portion of its vitality was the least it would suffer.
Its massive eyes fixed on He Yiming, as if trying to sear his image into memory forever. The Black Shark King turned and fled, its speed as swift as ever. However, for some reason, its body still twitched intermittently, making its swimming motions look rather like a bizarre dance.
He Yiming did not pursue the massive creature. As the surrounding lightning faded, his first action was to search for Chu Haozhou and the others.
Although the Black Shark King absorbed the vast majority of the Thunder Shocking Pearl's power, the residual force was still not to be underestimated. Who knew if Chu Haozhou and the others were unharmed.
He swam rapidly through the water, quickly reaching the area where Chu Haozhou and the others had retreated.
After searching for a while, he found nothing. He Yiming was greatly alarmed. After a brief consideration, he immediately swam towards the surface.
If the roles were reversed and he were suddenly hit by such an attack, his first instinct would be to leave the seabed. Chu Haozhou and the others were exceptionally intelligent; they should have made the same choice.
His speed was immense, and he quickly ascended from that spot.
“Hoo…”
He Yiming burst from beneath the sea surface into the open air, executing a light somersault and landing steadily on the beach.
He had spotted the few figures on the shore while still mid-air. Upon landing, he flashed over to join them.
However, seeing them, even He Yiming could not help but burst into loud laughter.
Chu Haozhou, Bai Lingba, the Precious Pig, and the White Horse Thunder were all there.
But aside from Bai Lingba, everyone else was covered in grime. The White Horse and the Precious Pig were no longer pristine white; they were mottled with patches of black and white.
The power of the Thunder Shocking Pearl was truly incredible; even the White Horse, which possessed its own lightning power, could not withstand it entirely.
Comparatively, Chu Haozhou was the most wretched. His hair and beard had both been reduced to charred remnants, glued together in a blackened mess. As He Yiming approached, he could even see faint wisps of white electricity flashing across his face—a sight that was utterly comical.
