After the final round of competition, all four ended up drunk and slept until past four in the afternoon, only waking up when Su Xue and Ouyang Qing started clamoring to go shopping, leaving Xu Chen and me with no choice but to accompany them.
The four of us left the female dormitory building together and saw a constant stream of students flooding towards the same spot on campus. Su Xue turned to me and said, "Junior Brother, go see what's happening over there. We're going shopping. Report back immediately if anything significant develops."
I readily agreed, "Fine, you all go ahead. I'll check out what's going on."
In a small square on campus, hundreds of students were gathered, every single one looking indignant. Some were even holding up homemade banners. I glanced at one, which read: "R-people get off Shenyu Island," "Swear to defend the dignity of our territory," and "Ming Island has no right to sell our land."
What's going on? Another major national incident? It shouldn't be; otherwise, the Military Commission would have notified me already. After the battle at Xijin, those old folks regard my strength in a new light; they would certainly inform me the instant anything big happened to the country.
Either the situation hasn't escalated to the point where the Tri-Service Corps needs to intervene. A lot of the time, countries engage in verbal spars before escalating to military displays of force. Few nations nowadays dare to start a real war; the situation with Niu Country a while back was an example. Localized conflicts might be tolerable, but a full-scale war is something every country approaches with extreme caution.
A rather tall, handsome young man with a center-parted haircut jumped onto a makeshift chair to stand up high. "Fellow students! The R-people are openly building an airport on Shenyu Island! This is a severe provocation to the dignity of our Chinese nation! As descendants of the Dragon, we will not tolerate any treasonous act that seeks to divide our land! We firmly oppose the shameful pro-Japanese actions of Ming Island! Drive the R-people off Shenyu Island!"
At that moment, a female student also stepped onto another chair. "My dear friends! Stop silently enduring the enemy's humiliation! Our silence and cowardice will only invite more rampant aggression from the enemy! Every conscientious citizen of our nation should actively respond right now! Show your confidence and courage, and fight all hegemonic imperialism to the end!"
The young man waved his fist and shouted, "Boycott R-made goods! R-people get out of Great Dragon Country! Defend national dignity, swear to protect Shenyu Island to the death!"
The female student cried out, "All citizens who still have a conscience, stand up! Let's march to the R-Japanese Embassy in China! Let the R-people know that the territory of our Great Dragon Country is sacred and inviolable! All despicable and shameless invaders will pay a blood price!"
The crowd grew larger and larger. Many students had brought small, homemade red flags. Some had large, bold characters written on the backs of their T-shirts saying, "R-PEOPLE GET OUT!" A male student, holding a small red flag, led the chant: "Down with R-Japanese Imperialism! Cleanse out R-goods and drive out all R-people!"
It didn't take long before a portion of R-goods were indeed gathered together, mostly electronics, presumably collected from student dorm rooms. Whoosh! A group of people swarmed them, kicking furiously. In no time, the pile of items was smashed to pieces. After another shout, the main body of the crowd quickly marched toward the campus exit; they were preparing to demonstrate in front of the R-Japanese Embassy.
I watched while contemplating how to respond to the R-people's foolish behavior when someone suddenly shoved me from behind. "Little White Dragon, what are you hesitating for? Let's go together!"
I turned around and saw Xu Hu and Chen Chao. I asked, "What exactly happened? I haven't seen the news today."
Xu Hu cursed, "Damn, something huge happened! This morning, the R-people threatened to build an airport on Shenyu Island, and Ming Island actually tacitly approved their invasion! The nation hasn't reacted yet, but we should let the country know that everyone in Great Dragon Country won't allow this to happen. We must show our resolve and courage to resist the invasion!"
I said to Xu Hu, "Sure, your eloquence isn't bad either. You could lead the masses like that handsome guy tomorrow."
Xu Hu blushed, "Mu Fei is famous on the Campus Heartthrob List. How could I compare to him? Oh right, do you have any R-goods on you? If so, take them out now to be destroyed, or don't blame your brothers for not saving your face."
I pulled out my pocket and replied, "I don't have any R-goods, only a heart set on making them die. Want some?"
Xu Hu and Chen Chao exclaimed, "We want some! When we have time, we’ll go to R-Country and screw every single one of their women. It’s best to find a few girls like the ones in those AVs, then charge everyone one time for a screw when we get back."
The three of us burst out laughing. Chen Chao pulled me along, "Come on, come on, come on, or we’ll lose track of the main group."
I said, "I have something to do, so I won't go today. Help me give them a couple of extra kicks for me. Just be careful not to go too far, or the police will step in to stop it, because the country can't afford to explain things internationally."
The two spat out, "Explain my ass! Why aren't the R-people worried about explaining things internationally? If they dare to do it, why can't we? We’re going to find a couple of bricks later. If we don't smash their embassy to pieces, I'll walk backward!"
I could only wave my hand, "Hurry up, hurry up, smash a couple of bricks for me too. If you get arrested later, I'll bail you out."
As they walked away, they said, "Of course! You know plenty of powerful girls. Bailing us out will be a piece of cake. Our brothers are going to smash things up today!"
"Big Brother Zhao!" Just as I took two steps, a shout came from behind me.
I turned around and saw it was Zhou Ni! "Zhou Ni, it’s you! How are you doing? Are you getting used to the week-long course?"
Zhou Ni stood charmingly beside me. She was wearing a pair of tight jeans that made her rear end round and pert. Her top was a short-sleeved, tight T-shirt that stretched her ample chest tautly. Her long hair was loosely tied up with a yellow ribbon resting on her shoulder, and waves of faint fragrance drifted into my nose from time to time.
"Yeah, it's much easier than high school, and the learning environment here is excellent. I really like it here."
I saw Zhou Ni still holding two textbooks and asked, "Just finished class? Heading back to the dorm? Are you staying on campus tonight?"
Zhou Ni lowered her head, "Yes. Do you know who I share a room with?"
"Who?"
"Sister Mengmeng."
"Oh, so you’re in the same dorm as Zhao Ting and the others."
Zhou Ni looked surprised, "Huh? You already knew."
I smiled, "Before you started school, I went to her dorm with Mengmeng. Zhao Ting was the only one eating at the time, so I got to know her. I didn't expect the empty bed to be assigned to you. It must be fate."
Zhou Ni exclaimed, "Right? Sister Mengmeng treats me so well. She even bought me these clothes."
I praised, "They look great, really showing off your figure. Much better than those wide, baggy clothes you used to wear."
Zhou Ni blushed and whispered, "Sister Mengmeng also said you would like it. Otherwise, I wouldn't wear something this tight; it's too revealing and embarrassing."
Zhou Ni's coy demeanor delighted me. We were already in a relationship through 'proper introductions,' she gave me my first kiss, and even helped me out before—our connection was extraordinary. I pulled Zhou Ni's hand, "Let's go. Don't stay in the dorm tonight; I'm going to Jingjing's place. We can go home together."
Zhou Ni was also very happy; going home to see her mother was certainly a good thing, and she could also be with Big Brother Zhao, whom she had missed dearly. She waved the books in her hand, "I'll drop these books off at the dorm first. Can you wait for me a moment, Big Brother Zhao?"
I pulled Zhou Ni along, "Let's go, I'll go with you. It’s a good chance to see your bunk. If for some reason I don't have a place to sleep one night, I can look for you guys. Just make sure you don't accidentally touch Zhao Ting's chest, that would be huge trouble."
Zhou Ni blushed and giggled, "You always joke. How can a boy stay overnight in a girls' dorm?"
Zhou Ni didn't know about this part. Ouyang Qian had mentioned earlier that relationships between boys and girls at Longteng University were very messy. During last semester's physical examination, they found fifteen pregnant girls—a shocking number. It was rumored the school was devising countermeasures, and strengthening management of the female dormitories would certainly be next.
"Zhou Ni! Zhou Ni! Student Zhou Ni!" As we neared the female dormitory building, a voice called Zhou Ni's name from behind.
We both turned around. I didn't recognize this male student, but he was another handsome guy—not only was his attire impeccable, but his looks were also drop-dead gorgeous. It seems there are handsome guys everywhere, yet only beautiful women love me, hehe. Seeing his angry face, he must be upset that I was holding Zhou Ni's hand. He doesn't know that I’ve felt her curves right through her clothes, and she even used her mouth for me before. That'll drive this pale-faced guy mad!
