Upon the Wheel of Fate, Solon looked up into the depths of the void, a profound unrest welling from his very soul; he sensed an unspeakable peril.
"It feels like a truly terrifying entity just let out a howl—a roar that reached the soul-imprints within the strongest beings. This creature must be immensely powerful!"
The Yuan, manifesting in human form, possessed a white beard cascading to his chest, maintaining an appearance of benevolence and gentleness. Were it not for the exquisite spider-web pattern etched on his forehead, he would have seemed indistinguishable from before. He turned to Solon, bowing respectfully, "Something is not right..."
"What about you all?" Solon’s expression grew solemn, and he commanded quietly.
"A formless oppression emanates from our souls—wicked and terrifying..." the Nether Prison stated its findings.
"I don't know why, but I feel agitated and irritable, a frantic urge to unleash the desires lurking inside, to finally release the evil within!" Rupert replied.
Hantian, Mandis, and the others also bowed their heads and reported; their accounts were largely identical to those of the Nether Prison and Rupert.
"It seems that Devourer... might have managed to integrate the Source of Devouring. It must be so. Only after integrating the Source of Devouring and having his power and realm surge dramatically could he instill such immense existential dread in living beings," Solon murmured after a moment of thought. He did not pause his journey toward the Source of Space, as if the threat of Devourer was somehow less terrifying to him than Shi Yan.
Almost simultaneously.
(Huang), arriving from the same direction, momentarily froze in his stride. He too looked up into the depths of the void and stated indifferently, "I wonder if the one who fused with the Source of the Profound Truth of Devouring is Devourer, or that young lad..."
From the emanation of that malevolent aura, he too was certain that the Profound Truth of Devouring had been integrated. Only Shi Yan and Devourer could achieve such a feat, and either one posed an immense threat to him.
Yet, just like Solon, he made no move to address the wicked intimidation. He steadfastly continued his furious dash toward the likely location of the spatial barrier below.
Beside the Sea of Life.
Meiji, clad in a gown of brilliant silver, resembling a goddess of absolute ice, floated silently in the void. Her eyes, which always bewitched all living things, appeared like blossoming frost flowers, radiating intense cold.
Having remained by the Sea of Life for a long time, she stayed quiet, simply awaiting Shi Yan’s integration, waiting for him to awaken.
In a zone bathed in radiant mist.
Zi Yao lazily opened her eyes. Her face was exquisitely beautiful, as if she had just woken from a pleasant dream.
The vast expanse of rosy mist suddenly wrapped tightly around her graceful figure, transforming into a vivid, multicolored rainbow skirt. "Finally, success..."
She pursed her lips into an elegant smile. Her body transformed into a streak of orange-red divine light, flashing and vanishing in the void.
After an unknown passage of time, she reappeared next to a mysterious starry expanse. Gazing upon Shi Yan's body slowly coalescing from the sea of stars, her smile was bright. "It seems this clone of starlight will be the first to successfully integrate. I shall continue to wait."
In the depths of the void.
Shi Yan's evil clone was screaming in agony, falling relentlessly toward the lowest level of the Profound Truth Layer. This evil clone's skin had turned inky black, as if poisoned.
The entirely black clone possessed only a pair of eyes that were scarlet as blood, monstrous and terrifying. A thick, inalienable aura of evil malice permeated from within him, seemingly capable of provoking the darkest aspects within any living soul.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
His heart pulsed as if an overwhelming fierce demon were chained within it, constantly swelling, sending wisps of visible black energy spreading from his chest, seeping into his bones, flesh, sinews, and into the soul within his mind.
He was still digesting...
World-destroying evil energy erupted from this evil clone. That terrifying momentum made even the strongest beings tremble in fear.
...
At the very bottom of the Profound Truth Layer.
The boundless, mirror-like Profound Truth Source of Space was showing fine, delicate cracks. The smooth mirror surface shattered, accompanied by strange "kaka" sounds from within, as if a savage beast were gnawing at the fragments, attempting to carve open this layer from the inside.
Time sped by, and the limitless Profound Truth Source of Space seemed to be slowly contracting.
"Whoosh!"
The Wheel of Fate tore through the dim void, crashing down violently, hovering directly above the mirror-like Profound Truth Source of Space.
Solon, the Yuan, the Nether Prison, Mandis, and the others stared down, their faces etched with expressions of shock.
"Soul Shackles! Sense Prohibition!"
Solon frowned, suddenly raising a hand to tap his brow. A faint light rippled from his glabella, spreading outward...
In the eyes of those familiar with Shi Yan—Hantian, Mandis, Ancestor Longxi, Dracula—their expressions shifted; they suddenly looked dazed, as if their cognitive faculties and intelligence had been locked away, rendering them incapable of even thought.
"It's the scent emanating from him. The aura of the Profound Truth of Space. The one attempting to fuse with the Source of the Profound Truth of Space is none other than him," the Nether Prison, skilled in the Profound Truth of Souls, stated after clenching the dark green soul sphere in his palm and guiding the mysteries within with his spirit, suddenly opening his eyes.
Solon nodded and spoke calmly, "The Source of the Profound Truth of Space on this layer separates two worlds. Where we are is the Primordial Profound Truth Layer; the layer beneath is the Primordial Sea of Consciousness Layer. When the mirror surface beneath our feet truly shatters, the two layers will connect. Shi Yan's fusion journey has only just begun; he is still some distance from achieving a true break. Once he can genuinely pierce through, you must exert all your strength to kill him. Even if it means your own demise, you must ensure his soul is utterly scattered."
The Yuan, the Nether Prison, Rupert, and the others showed struggle in their eyes upon hearing this, as if trying to break free from the shackles and fly out. But it was only for an instant; the struggle vanished from their eyes, replaced by deep reverence for Solon.
"We obey the Master's command," they replied in unison softly.
"Wait a moment," Solon smiled.
Those who had arrived first immediately fell silent, stepping off the Wheel of Fate and dispersing to the surroundings, all concentrating their gaze downward.
The Source of the Profound Truth of Space appeared as a vast, smooth, giant mirror, its edges disappearing beyond sight. Cracks, like those on glass, appeared on its surface. These cracks gradually grew thicker and longer from their initial fine state, as if about to shatter completely...
Meanwhile, the spatial fluctuations within grew increasingly apparent, as if layers upon layers of space were being dissolved, slowly eroded away.
Solon’s expression remained calm, but his eyes flickered incessantly, revealing hints of excitement and eagerness.
This moment, he had waited tens of thousands of years for—waiting for this layer to crack so he could slay Shi Yan, integrate the Sea of Consciousness and the Soul Pond beneath, achieve the ultimate Profound Truth, and become the singular deity of heaven and earth!
"Who is Solon?"
Suddenly, a cold, indifferent voice boomed from the dark void high above, like the simultaneous roar of billions of massive thunderclaps, deafeningly loud.
Solon, engrossed in his excitement and joy, became momentarily confused, a flash of bewilderment crossing his face.
The Yuan, however, let out a low growl, suddenly extremely tense. He immediately activated the Profound Truth of Water, enveloping his entire body tightly in a transparent water bubble.
In his Soul Altar, the Source of the Profound Truth of Water that the Yuan had integrated seemed to instantly connect with all the oceans in the universe, surging torrents of water power straight into his divine body, causing his strength to surge instantly.
The Yuan’s tension and unease astonished those bound by Solon. They knew how formidable the Yuan was; if even he was so fearful and unsettled, the one arriving must be even more powerful!
" (Huang)!"
As everyone watched in astonishment, the Yuan roared, gathering almost all his strength to meet the impending catastrophic disaster.
Hantian, Mandis, Ancestor Longxi, and Dracula, having once jointly resisted the soul impact of (Huang) during the battle in the Cloud Domain Realm, instinctively activated their Profound Truths the moment 's voice sounded. Despite Solon controlling their soul thoughts, they immediately resisted with all their might.
Suddenly, from the shadowy void, towering golden mountains appeared, conical in shape like exceedingly sharp weapons, descending with a dominant and fierce momentum.
"Rumble!"
A terrifying power, capable of shattering the heavens and crushing the void, enveloped the entire firmament.
"Bang!"
The water bubble the Yuan had refined was struck by one of the golden mountains, resulting in an earth-shattering explosion. The Yuan almost instantly condensed his true form, using his thick, hard carapace to block the golden mountain the moment the bubble burst.
Even so, the Yuan's true body was slammed onto the mirror surface of space by that single blow, appearing utterly wretched.
Hantian, Mandis, Dracula, and Ancestor Longxi instinctively huddled together, using flames to form a fire shield, employing time manipulation to slow the descent of the golden mountain, and then creating a new defensive line with magma, exerting all their strength to resist the violent impact of one golden mountain.
"Pfft!" Hantian spat out a mouthful of blood, his expression changing drastically. He muttered internally in shock, crying out, "So strong!"
The seal on his solidified soul consciousness was actually shattered by this blow, and he instantly recovered his clarity. However, his altar was still bound by the web of fate, meaning he still could not escape Solon's servitude.
After his initial shock, he glanced at Mandis, Dracula, and Ancestor Longxi beside him, noticing that after sustaining less damage from the impact, their expressions had returned to blankness.
"Crack! Crack!"
Cracking sounds emanated from the divine bodies of the Nether Prison and Rupert as a sharp, golden mountain bore down on them, smashing them both onto the mirror surface of space, their divine bodies nearly collapsing.
Horror drained their color, scaring them half to death. They hurriedly consolidated all their power, fiercely resisting the speed at which their bodies were being crushed.
" (Huang)! So it is you!"
Solon fully regained his senses just before the colossal golden mountain arrived. Sensing the world-shaking Profound Truth of Gold, even his expression shifted slightly.
The Wheel of Fate beneath his feet suddenly ascended. In an instant, billions of light beams surged across the wheel, causing every living being across countless realms to feel a strange sensation, as if a strand of their soul was being forcibly drawn out.
"Boom!"
The giant mountain descended, yet it failed to shatter the wheel. The Wheel of Fate only trembled twice before settling firmly above Solon's head.
"You are Solon. I have finally found you!"
's cold and domineering voice echoed once more from the depths of the dark void. As the sound faded, he manifested in the appearance of Gui Liao's human form, hovering above everyone, looking down upon the beings below.
Solon's expression grew grave. He looked up at and nodded, "I have finally met you in person."
"For years, you have repeatedly spied upon the Desolate Domain. What is your purpose?" asked coldly.
"Merely to see if you were awake," Solon quickly calmed himself. A thick scripture flew out from his brow, held in both his hands. As he spoke, one hand rapidly flipped the pages until he reached the final page, finding the familiar symbolic lines. He pressed down on it, only then letting out a silent sigh of relief, a smile spreading across his face, "I have been waiting for you for a long time as well."
