The term "Killed Southern Tibet" generally refers to the foothills and plains on the southern slope of the Malaya Mountains, deep within the X Tibet region of the Great Dragon Nation, where the altitude sharply drops. This area boasts a pleasant climate and abundant water, mineral, flora, and fauna resources, earning it the historical moniker, the Jiangnan of the Plateau.
The three women were thoroughly perplexed. "Why? Isn't that under the control of the Cow Nation?"
Naturally, a plan was already forming in my mind, though it was too early to voice it now. "Why worry about it? We'll establish an underground kingdom. Using the Malaya Mountains as our base, we'll extend downwards into the Cow Nation’s territory to mine their resources. As long as we work covertly, they shouldn't notice. Besides, even if the Cow Nation detects subsurface anomalies, are they going to start digging up the earth strata to look? Even if they could dig that deep, it would be our world beneath, and they wouldn't be calling the shots."
These three girls had always followed my word implicitly. Even if I told them to go kill cows and burn temples, they wouldn't object. Zhao Fen and Zhao Fang were workaholics, and since I had promised to speak with the Chairman that afternoon about arranging their transfer, the two were already begging Little Raindrop to take them to the base immediately so they could familiarize themselves with the situation and start their research right away.
After coordinating the rendezvous point with Xiao Hui, the three women were driven off by the dedicated bodyguard assigned to Zhao Fen and Zhao Fang. I remained alone in the living room, mentally reviewing and sorting through the events of the past couple of days. I realized my previous attitude had been too lazy, marked by a general indifference, perhaps even overly childish. However, I resolved that things would be different from now on; a man must act like a man.
That afternoon, I met with the Chairman in private. Though reluctant to see Zhao Fen and Zhao Fang leave, he ultimately agreed to my request for their transfer. On an impulse, I also requested Professor Chen, who was leading the Super Soldier project. I had two reasons for this: the Super Soldier team absolutely needed Professor Chen, and secondly, I planned to conduct artificial skin trials. If we could cover the mechanical soldiers with an artificial dermis, who would ever realize they were machines? That would make future operations infinitely easier.
Night had already fallen. Peach and I stood on the rooftop. I asked her, "Can I really 'fly' like you do? Don't lie to me and make me jump off this building to my death."
Peach replied, "You yourself said jumping from the fourth floor was no problem; this is only the second floor, what’s there to fear? Just follow my instructions, concentrate all your intent, and imagine stretching time—then you can achieve the same speed I have."
Although I felt like backing out, I had just boasted to Peach that I would take on Chen Wanzhi single-handedly. If I used any other method to reach Bright Island, time wouldn't permit it. Therefore, I asked Peach to teach me how to enter a supersonic state. I hadn't expected her first lesson to be jumping off a building, though she claimed to have communicated with Little Raindrop and asserted that with my current physical conditioning, I could absolutely reach supersonic travel.
"Fine, Peach, I'll jump, but you have to come with me. After all, jumping voluntarily is different from being forced to jump to save Zhang Xiaoya. If I can't get into the state myself, immediately control my brainwaves to let me get used to the feeling first."
Peach leaped onto my shoulder, full of spirit. "No problem, let’s go! All who offend us shall die! When the Divine Cat issues its decree, the world trembles!"
I closed my eyes and jumped from the rooftop. Peach commanded in my mind, "Follow my feeling!"
I focused my will, imagining the billions of long years of Earth's history, imagining time as a ball of dough, and myself as a master noodle maker, pulling, pulling, stretching it longer and longer. Then, a miracle truly occurred. My body, which had been plummeting rapidly, suddenly slowed down, feeling somewhat like floating in mid-air. The distance of over ten meters instantly blurred into an indistinct mass.
Peach roared in my mind: "Go like the wind and lightning!"
Peach guided my intent. The cat and I swooshed away like a violent gust of wind. At this point, the world that had been a hazy blur in my eyes became progressively clearer as our speed increased. As my and Peach’s velocity skyrocketed, the external scenery warped, looking like something out of a funhouse mirror. Now, I truly experienced the feeling of 'flying'—it was incredibly exhilarating!
Before long, under Peach's direction, I learned to control the speed myself. We circled over the capital city once before turning and rocketing toward the Bright Island U Base.
Inside the Bright Island U Base, a five-star general was laughing heartily. "Mr. Chen, you've worked hard. The President has specially dispatched me to reward you. The intelligent navigation system is crucial for the Great Dragon Nation's Second Artillery Corps. Their plan to saturate strike us using shore-based missiles is about to collapse, and with a more precise guidance system, we can better develop our missile capabilities. In the future, our weaponry might even be exportable. You, Mr. Chen, are a great hero."
Chen Wanzhi looked deeply subservient. "Not at all, General Chen, you are too kind. Didn't you say you would arrange my transfer to the Star Nation? When do I leave?"
General Chen looked displeased. "Is Mr. Chen distrustful of the U Base's defenses? The reinforced concrete above our heads can withstand a nuclear blast, and we have a regiment of troops guarding the perimeter. Even if the Great Dragon Nation attacked with full force, it would be hard to succeed quickly. My expert team is currently decrypting the navigation system; once we have the source code, you can safely go enjoy life in the Star Nation."
"Yes, yes, yes, I understand." Chen Wanzhi knew they still didn't completely trust him. They wouldn't let go until they saw the rabbit in the bag. It was his own fault for only being able to produce this encrypted finished product instead of the source code.
General Chen opened an external network computer and pointed at the screen, asking Chen Wanzhi, "Does Mr. Chen recognize this codename?"
Chen Wanzhi stepped forward and saw a threatening message cursing him, signed by "Divine Cat." "I don't recognize this person. I imagine it's just some angry youth stirring up trouble."
General Chen shook his head. "No. Mr. Chen’s movements have never been leaked externally, and the Great Dragon Nation hasn't publicly announced your defection. This Divine Cat must have a military background. Of course, we aren't afraid of him, but this individual is not simple. He hacked into most of our official websites and posted the kill order on the front page. That maneuver alone warrants our highest level of concern."
For some inexplicable reason, Chen Wanzhi suddenly associated the Divine Cat with the strange cat he saw at the alumni gathering. He then recalled helping Tan Tian successfully frame that cat's owner just before leaving; he figured that person must be languishing in prison now. Thinking of this filled Chen Wanzhi with deep satisfaction. What skills could that person possibly have to capture the goddess of his dreams? Of course, that Tan Tian wasn't any better—a useless human parasite, hogging the privy without using it!
Suddenly, the base's red air defense warning lights began to flash urgently, and the klaxon sounded: "Alert! Alert! The Great Dragon Nation has unexpectedly launched a micro-missile, traveling at supersonic speed across the strait toward our base!"
General Chen’s face went pale. "No way! How could the Dragon Nation do this? All intelligence indicates they haven't deployed troops, so they wouldn't launch a hasty attack. Could it be a false alarm?"
The monitor reported, "Impossible. The alert originated from a Star Nation satellite. The BMD Ballistic Missile Automated Defense System has been activated; the interceptor countdown has begun."
Chen Wanzhi felt his eyelids twitching violently, and an instinctual urge made him start looking for an escape route.
The monitor's voice trembled slightly. "The Dragon Nation missile has suddenly accelerated—twice the speed of sound, no, it’s still increasing—three times, four times... It has shaken off the interceptor and is now directly above our base! Oh my God! That’s not a missile! It’s a flying person!"
Satellite data, coordinated with high-altitude early warning aircraft and base radar scans, had locked onto the 'missile.' The monitor was right; it wasn't a missile but a distinctly human figure in flight. Though facial features were indistinct, the humanoid form was unmistakable.
Even though the target wasn't a missile, General Chen was even more astonished. When did the Great Dragon Nation develop superhumans who could fly? This was inconceivable! If the entire People's Liberation Army could fly, how could Bright Island possibly hold out?
"Mobilize all forces of the Guard Regiment! Ensure the invading enemy is captured!" General Chen commanded.
Effortlessly evading the interceptor missile, Peach and I landed squarely in the center of the U Base. Base alarms blared, and soldiers armed with live ammunition advanced toward us. Peach whispered to me, "That bastard Chen Wanzhi is hiding in the underground bunker. The reinforced concrete blast walls are incredibly thick; breaking through will likely be troublesome."
Watching the soldiers shouting and closing in, I told Peach, "Let’s deal with them first. Let's see who's faster!"
Two phantoms lunged toward the soldiers behind the bunker. Wherever the phantoms passed, men fell, screaming in agony. These supposed elite guards of Bright Island didn't even have time to fire before they were dealt with by me and Peach. Some had limbs severed by my palm strikes; others had tendons and arteries ripped by Peach’s mouth and claws. The bloody scene only heightened our excitement.
I had witnessed Peach’s speed before, but today, I was startled by my own velocity. Killing was like harvesting wheat in a field—swift and brutal. What kind of superman will those three energy stones turn me into? How much potential do I still have untapped? The future is truly unpredictable.
The reinforced concrete door finally buckled and collapsed after taking more than a dozen blows from me. Peach was in a blood frenzy, excitedly shouting, "Good work, Boss! Let’s keep charging!"
Nothing could stop us now. Facing a barrage of bullets erupting from the underground bunker, I roared and charged forward. The bullets stung against my body, but this only fueled my explosive power. The man and the cat swept into the base interior like a storm. Wherever we went, bodies flew; most soldiers died instantly, and the few survivors were maimed, stripped of their ability to attack.
Bang! The world's supposedly strongest bulletproof tempered glass inside the U Base shattered under a single kick from me! Peach and I surveyed the people in the central control room—the target we sought was not among them.
"Who... who are you people!" General Chen had lost all his previous arrogance. Having his defenses breached in mere minutes made him deeply concerned for his own safety.
"People who specialize in executing traitors and selling out the country! Where is Chen Wanzhi? Judging by your uniform, General, you must be the ringleader here."
General Chen tried to regain composure and asked, "Are you sent by the People's Liberation Army?"
"No! I answer to no one. I am only here to reclaim what was lost. I have already declared that anyone harboring Chen Wanzhi is my enemy, and anyone who has accessed the intelligent navigation system must die!"
I don't know when I became this cold. The events of the past few days have profoundly changed my character. I used to be indifferent to many things, but that stops now. If you cross me, I will definitely strike back!
Peach had already finished scanning the brain signals of everyone present. She reported to me, "Boss, these people were trying to crack the intelligent navigation system. This General Chen is an important element of the island separatist faction. Chen Wanzhi escaped through the emergency exit amidst the chaos just now."
"Kill," I ordered Peach curtly, then ignored the ensuing screams to deal with the computers storing the ballistic missile intelligent navigation system data.
Chen Wanzhi didn't dare linger. He hijacked an F-18 fighter jet from the U Base and sped directly toward the Kadena Star Nation Air Force Base. He knew he had caused a massive problem this time; if the other side didn't kill him, they likely wouldn't stop. Furthermore, Bright Island had clearly not shown him enough sincerity. Had he known, he would have aligned himself with the Star Nation from the start, wasting so much effort on Bright Island before.
Using the F-18's communication system, Chen Wanzhi quickly established contact with the Kadena Star Nation Air Force Base. Upon learning he was a colonel who defected from the Great Dragon Nation, the Star Nation base promptly dispatched eight F-28 fighters to escort and welcome him.
Chen Wanzhi barely had time to shower and sit down in the reception room after arriving at the base, before the air raid siren sounded, just as it had on Bright Island. The monitor reported a humanoid missile piercing the defense perimeter and penetrating the base interior.
Chen Wanzhi’s legs gave out, and he collapsed onto the floor. He knew he couldn't escape Death's grasp today. The opponent's power was too terrifying; he feared the entire Kadena installation couldn't withstand his assault. Where else could he run? Having offended someone he shouldn't have, there was no place left for him in this world!
The Star Nation military personnel reacted noticeably faster than those on Bright Island, but what use was it? The tragedy repeated itself. The single person and cat blasted their way into the base control room. Those Star Nation soldiers were sent to hell before they could even pull up their trousers.
By now, the Kadena Air Force Base was an inferno. The explosions triggered a chain reaction, engulfing the aircraft. The unsuspecting Star Nation personnel, believing they were witnessing another Pearl Harbor incident, responded haphazardly, which only caused more explosions.
Chen Wanzhi attempted to sneak out of the reception room, planning another escape attempt, but the door slammed back in his face from a single punch the moment he opened it.
"Chen Wanzhi! Why did you frame me! I held no grudge against you—was all of this directed by Tan Tian!"
Chen Wanzhi slumped to the ground. The emergency lights in the control room had flickered on, illuminating the face of his assailant. It was indeed his old classmate, and the cat was as fast as a bullet, having already subdued all the personnel in the control room in an instant.
"Zhao Qian, I never expected it to be you. Weren't you just a tofu seller? How could you possess such skills?"
"Who told you a tofu seller couldn't slaughter pigs and dogs? Hand over your copy of the navigation system, and then come back with me to face punishment."
Chen Wanzhi still tried to deny it. "N-no, I don't have it anymore. I already gave the navigation system to General Chen on Bright Island."
With Peach around, no one could deceive me. I snatched a compact disc from his inner pocket. Then I said to Peach, "We’ve made enough noise tonight. Let's go back. If we don't leave soon, the Star Nation might deploy an aircraft carrier against us."
Despite his name bearing the meaning of 'Ten Thousand Intelligences,' Chen Wanzhi was utterly helpless as he was carried upside down through the air, so terrified that he wet his pants.
At dawn, Peach, myself, and Chen Wanzhi appeared in the Chairman’s office.
"Little Zhao, you are certainly bold. The Star Nation managed to keep the attack on Kadena Air Force Base quiet, but the incident at the Bright Island U Base has caused an uproar. Now the entire world is accusing us of launching a sudden decapitation strike against the island, labeling our Great Dragon Nation as a new generation of terrorists."
Although the Chairman spoke this way, there was no blame in his expression. I tossed Chen Wanzhi carelessly aside. "Chairman, you don't need to listen to the nonsense from those countries. They are just eager for the world to descend into chaos, hoping we clash with Bright Island so they can reap the benefits."
"I have already instructed our comrades to issue a statement declaring this a civilian matter, entirely unconnected to the government." The Chairman glanced at Chen Wanzhi. "Are you planning to kill him?"
Chen Wanzhi shivered in fright. "Chairman, I was wrong. Please spare my life, considering my past contributions to the nation! Zhao Qian, spare me for the sake of our alma mater, Beijing First High School..."
"Alumnus? Don't bring shame upon our Beijing First High School!" I turned back to Chairman Li. "Forget it. Killing him with one punch is too easy for him. Since I have already cleared my name and retrieved the program data, and captured the man, how he should be dealt with is up to you."
The Chairman pressed the call bell, and two guards entered to lead the limp Chen Wanzhi away. He then poured me a cup of tea. "Come, Little Zhao, let's have a good chat, just the two of us..."
