Evelyn and Adams spun around, their expressions shifting to utter horror, washed over by a deep tide of regret.
Amidst the churning meteor storm, Shiyan moved with detached indifference, streaking like a falling star. Meteorites parted along his path, carving out a clear, open avenue just for him.
Streaks of incandescent spatial blades, vast and sharp as cleavers from the heavens, roamed around him, lending his aura an unmatched majesty.
Body transformed into a stellar stream, meteors clearing the way, spatial blades encircling his form—the sheer might Shiyan displayed felt like a searing, fiery brand, scorching the very souls of Evelyn and Adams with intense pain.
Had they known Shiyan would be this relentless, they would have sooner died than tried to kill him; now that this formidable terror was locked onto them, what were they to do?
In that moment, both Evelyn and Adams were consumed by remorse. Seeing Shiyan approach with unstoppable momentum, their scalps prickled, realizing the severity of their predicament.
“Do you truly mean to leave no quarter?” Suddenly, Ma Xisha stepped forward. Just as her two senior brothers sustained injuries, she appeared behind the Fire Crystal Cloud Boat, confronting Shiyan directly.
Surprisingly, upon seeing her intervene, Evelyn and Adams showed no concern; instead, their eyes lit up slightly.
It was as if they possessed an immense, unwavering faith in her.
“Hm?”
Shiyan’s eyes narrowed, every pore on his body snapping wide open, a primal sense of peril washing over him.
He stared coldly at the Tianmu Clan woman, his gaze sweeping deliberately over her physique, “If your two senior brothers hadn’t intended to strike a killing blow, I wouldn't be relentlessly pursuing you. I didn't see you reprimand or stop them when your senior brother struck earlier; what use is shouting now?”
A narrow, elongated spatial light blade burst forth, radiating a blinding rainbow radiance. Within that light pulsed an aura of death capable of devouring living beings, sweeping toward the Fire Crystal Cloud Boat like the wails of the damned.
Having reached the Third Heaven of the Primeval God realm, whenever he deployed his Profundities of Space, Stars, Life, and Death, he often experienced sudden bursts of insight, grasping the fusion of these into new divine abilities.
The various Profundity techniques, in his hands, possessed a life of their own, subject to his will, releasing profound mysteries.
That spatial light blade merged the brilliance of starlight with the essence of death, integrating the Profundities of Space, Stars, and Death into one—immeasurably subtle, difficult for most to withstand.
He was confident that even Adams and Evelyn would be left battered if they had to endure it.
Because Adams and Evelyn were currently wounded in both soul and divine body, they absolutely dared not meet the force head-on with their divine power; they could only evade.
This was precisely what he intended—to force them to flee!
The moment they abandoned the protection of the fire crystal meteor, he would instantly command his blades to shatter that rock, forcing them into a genuine engagement within the meteor stream.
He had long discerned that the fire crystal meteor beneath them was quite miraculous, capable of warding off the perils of the meteor torrent, causing those spatial blades, the massive explosions, and the biting gale winds to all detour around them.
It was quite similar in principle to their own meteor, centered around the Three-Legged Great Cauldron.
Once the opponents were separated from the meteor’s defense, fighting him amidst the meteor stream, he possessed absolute confidence in slaughtering Adams and Evelyn, because the meteor stream was his Profundity domain. The meteors themselves were driven by his Star Profundity!
“Do you really think we have no power left to fight back?”
Ma Xisha’s lovely face chilled. Her robes billowed without wind, her chestnut curls seeming to crackle with electrical currents, and terrifying roars suddenly erupted from within her body.
She touched the center of her brow, and her Third Eye snapped open, illuminating the world!
A dazzling, pale purple light enveloped the space before her. Within that light, a fierce beast with the head of a dragon and the body of a lion materialized like a mountain, roaring fiercely at Shiyan.
“Boom!”
The sound wave erupted like continuous explosions, pulverizing the meteors in its path into dust. Even the spatial blades slashing towards it cracked and shattered.
A surge of boundless energy flooded into the dragon-lion beast through Ma Xisha’s third eye!
The beast grew increasingly ferocious and volatile. Within the pale purple radiance, it descended like a colossal mountain, roaring terribly. Its claws raked out, causing the obstructing meteors to explode one after another.
It bellowed again, its claws, sharp as towering peaks, plunging directly toward Shiyan’s head.
The sharp cold light radiating from its claws was dazzling, carrying an extremely fierce energy fluctuation. This strike, if it landed, could instantly shatter Shiyan’s skeleton, reducing him to mere pulp like those meteors.
The dragon-headed, lion-bodied beast was the totem sacred object of Ma Xisha’s clan. It had to be summoned via the Third Eye and fueled by the essence of blood and flesh.
The Third Eyes of the Tianmu Clan possessed unique, subtle divine powers, allowing them to summon fierce beasts to fight. According to Tianmu Clan lore, their Third Eyes could commune with a hundred beasts and also form specialized Profundities, key to their techniques. Once the Third Eye was activated, it would inflict a severe backlash upon the user.
However, the power escalated to an astonishing degree, becoming terrifyingly potent.
The dragon-lion beast summoned by Ma Xisha’s Third Eye was her clan’s totem sacred object; when imbued with vital blood essence, its power was boundless, forcing even Adams and Evelyn to recoil from its edge.
It was also due to Ma Xisha’s Third Eye ability that her two senior brothers, Adams and Evelyn, brought her along into the Sea of Nothingness, despite her only being at the Third Heaven of the Primeval God realm.
But Adams and Evelyn understood that once this Third Eye ability was unleashed, regardless of the outcome, Ma Xisha would inevitably suffer grievous injury, and the expended vital essence would take a long time to replenish. Thus, the moment her Third Eye opened, both men resolved to join forces to kill Shiyan.
“Boom boom boom!”
The ferocious beast pulverized meteors along its path, its roars even shattering the spatial blades, releasing boundless malice. In an instant, it locked onto Shiyan and charged forward in a fury.
Ma Xisha’s face grew pale, her voluptuous figure rapidly thinning, as if her very flesh and blood essence were being drained away.
Yet, the purple light within her Third Eye grew brighter, more terrifying, casting an aura of extreme vitality onto the fierce beast.
“Be careful! The level of vital energy within that beast is almost comparable to that of the Primeval Thunder Dragon, Leidi! Although it lacks Leidi’s Profundity coordination, it is still no small matter!”
Audrey, seated on the swift meteor, her beautiful eyes flashing, quickly cried out a warning, urging Shiyan not to underestimate the attack.
Shiyan’s expression turned profoundly serious. Seeing the beast charge forward, his own vital energy erupted suddenly, like a monstrous volcano spewing ferocity from the purgatory depths. The bone wings on his back stirred, fanning out torrents of blood-red waves. The intense, scarlet vital energy within those waves seemed intent on annihilating all living things.
Threads of energy from his Sea of Consciousness suddenly converged into his body. His fearsome divine body flickered rapidly, appearing and disappearing as if oscillating between light and darkness. Under the penetration of this dark energy, the space around him boomed, the Sea of Nothingness itself seeming on the verge of collapse, and several passing meteors dissolved silently.
“Come!”
Shiyan roared, yet his body seemed to vanish, disappearing instantly.
“Shh-la!”
A streak of blood suddenly appeared on the chest of the dragon-headed, lion-bodied behemoth. Its body rippled with tree-vein-like fluctuations. It shrieked, tearing at the void space, battering it with claws and fangs, while its long tail whipped around.
“Bang bang bang!”
The invisible Shiyan was struck by the beast’s claw shadows, jolted as if hit by a colossal warship. His divine body vibrated violently, spurting blood from his chest.
As the blood emerged, his divine body immediately reappeared. He shook his pair of bone wings; like sharp saw teeth, they sliced into the beast’s tail. The beast’s purple-veined tail was cut by his bone wings, becoming mangled and severed in two sections.
“Kaka-ka!”
Shiyan’s razor-like fingernails on both hands pierced into the beast’s body, crushing bone like shattering diamonds.
“Pfft!”
Ma Xisha spat out a mouthful of blood, her face turning ashen white. The light in her Third Eye dimmed abruptly. Her lovely face looked utterly dead, and after a few moments of hesitation, she suddenly pointed toward her chest.
Her heart began to beat wildly, ten times its normal speed!
The fierce beast seemed instantly recharged, surging back to life, appearing even more ferocious than before.
Shiyan stared, astonishment flashing in his eyes.
Evelyn froze. He had been about to open his Third Eye to strike, but upon seeing Ma Xisha activate the power of her heart, his expression changed drastically, and he shrieked, “No!”
Adams was also terrified, shouting, “Don’t!”
Both men abandoned Shiyan and rushed to Ma Xisha’s side, attacking together to shield the purple light emanating from her Third Eye.
Once the purple light was obscured, the dragon-headed, lion-bodied beast immediately became listless. Its form blurred suddenly, fading away until it vanished completely.
Ma Xisha’s face was ashen, her delicate body trembling with cold. Her heart, which had been beating violently, suddenly slowed down by dozens of times.
It was weaker than before she activated the energy, as if it were gradually stopping, becoming utterly bizarre.
“I will kill him! I will kill him!” Evelyn seemed on the verge of madness, his Third Eye writhing, ready to unleash an essence that devoured life itself.
“We must save our junior sister first!” Adams screamed.
Evelyn’s eyes were bloodshot, but upon hearing Adams, he snapped back to reality. He and Adams simultaneously split open their Third Eyes, which emitted green and blue halos, respectively. These halos acted like life-force magnetic fields, wrapping around Ma Xisha’s body, allowing the miraculous vital energy to slowly seep into her Third Eye.
Ma Xisha, pale as parchment, gradually stabilized under the coverage of the halos, and the sound of her faint heartbeat slowly strengthened.
“Thud!”
At that very moment, Shiyan landed coolly on their Fire Crystal Cloud Boat, watching them with interest as he advanced step by step.
“Shiyan.”
Beside him, Audrey, sitting on the meteor, which was moving extremely fast and was now very close to Shiyan, looked over from a distance and frowned suddenly, “That’s enough, you don’t need to push them too far. We are newcomers here, and we’ve already offended too many people; things will be difficult from now on.”
Shiyan smiled lightly and shook his head, saying, “I am never merciful to my enemies. If my strength had failed me today, it would be you and I who died; they would not have shown restraint.”
As he spoke, he had already reached the space before Evelyn, Adams, and Ma Xisha. At this critical juncture where Evelyn and Adams were focused on saving Ma Xisha, they knew his intentions were sinister but dared not divert their attention. Only deep hatred showed in their eyes, yet they could not stop treating Ma Xisha, because stopping meant her immediate death as her life magnetic field would completely wither.
“I didn’t expect you two senior brothers to be so deeply devoted to your junior sister. The emotion of love indeed harms people profoundly, to the extent that you would abandon defense just to maintain the integrity of her life field. I am truly moved.” Shiyan frowned, suddenly circulating his Profundities. The dark energy in his Sea of Consciousness instantly transformed into two strange imprints.
The imprints appeared as blood-colored cloud masses, nearly invisible to the naked eye, flying out from his brow and suddenly settling over the chests of Adams and Evelyn, disappearing where their hearts were.
Those imprints could instantly trigger destructive power, capable of shattering their hearts with ease.
He had also discerned that, besides the soul being a vital weak point for the Tianmu Clan, the heart was also a critical vulnerability.
Unlike him, who could reform a heart even if it were pulverized by using his blood.
With those imprints branded over Adams’ and Evelyn’s chests, he held the life and death of the two men in his hands. Though he struck when they were caught off guard, he felt no remorse whatsoever.
“Come over here. It’s safer now; we can have a good talk with them,” he beckoned toward Audrey.
