It was clear that Chief Chir'ok'eo had discerned a weakness in this bizarre and evil grand gate: the number of troops it could deploy at once was limited, and there was a necessary cooldown period between activations. This was because the Black Spine Brain Worm had intentionally suppressed its efficiency during the incubation of the wormhole to prevent the Queen of Blades from detecting spatial fluctuations!
In Chir'ok'eo’s plan, he was willing to sacrifice the life of a legendary behemoth to destroy nearly seven or eight layers of the enemy’s garrisoned forces! Therefore, with the enemy's forces just having suffered a heavy blow, they were no longer a major concern. By the time his warriors successfully charged to the front of the grand gate, it could, at most, only surge forth with two limited waves of troops.
When added together, this finite power absolutely could not stop the full-force assault of his warriors. Destroying that gate capable of teleporting troops was thus a certainty. Flattening this place would then become a matter of course!
But at this moment, Fang Senyan, observing the battle from afar, made a very strange gesture!
He raised his left hand high, extended his index finger, and made a continuous shaking motion.
As this gesture appeared, a strange shadow flew out at high speed from the woods next to the Zerg base. This shadow might have been completely unfamiliar to the Morsak tribesmen, but both Fang Senyan and Mogansha knew it quite well... it was an elite Zerg Queen.
It flew directly toward the front of the Morsak tribe, which was charging forward with thunderous momentum.
For some unknown reason, the moment Chief Chir'ok'eo saw this creature, an indescribable sense of impending danger suddenly surfaced in his heart. He immediately roared:
“Shoot it down!”
Just as Chir'ok'eo’s roar faded, one of the Legendary Creature Knights at the very front forcefully patted the neck of his mount. His mount resembled an enlarged and heavily built version of Earth’s giant lizard, which would flick out a forked, red tongue while galloping, and three long, black barbs grew from its neck, flashing sharply.
The master patted its neck, and the giant lizard emitted a sound akin to a human “hiccup.” In the next second, one of the long barbs on its neck shot out, striking the body of the elite Queen with lightning speed, causing it to instantly swell up like a balloon before bursting into a cloud of bloody mist.
However, just before being hit by the long barb, a faint green luminescence flowed over the Zerg Queen’s surface, quickly gathering on its two antennae, which then sprayed a spot of glowing green mucus toward them.
The long barb grazed past this blob of green mucus.
The Morsak knew perfectly well that this small amount of green mucus was certainly not harmless, but they were already locked into their charge formation, meaning they could not afford any deviation from the group. Thus, those taking the brunt of it closed their eyes, gritted their teeth, and prepared for the corrosion, the stench, and the searing pain! But they would convert that pain into fighting strength, venting it madly upon the bodies of the enemies before them!
Yet, the glob of green mucus unexpectedly split—one into two, two into four, four into eight—while flying through the air over the next few seconds. Green viscous threads even remained connected between the splitting particles. When it reached the vanguard of the Morsak tribe, it had startlingly formed a large, pale-green, glowing web! It enveloped them entirely and decisively.
Entrapment!!
This was the Queen’s Entrapment!
Although three Legendary Creature Knights were exempt from this powerful area-of-effect slow, it was undeniable that most of the ten-plus Legendary Creature Knights charging at the front were affected.
Covered head-to-toe in that pale-green mucus, they appeared significantly clumsier. Every movement seemed constrained as if bound by elastic ropes, becoming extraordinarily difficult, and their speed abruptly dropped by 50%!
Thus, rear-end collisions occurred naturally. While not causing fatalities like highway pile-ups, stumbling horses and sudden drops in speed were unavoidable. For a moment, traffic congestion even ensued.
Therefore!
Chir'ok'eo’s earlier estimation contained a deviation.
A fatal deviation!
He had anticipated that by the time they reached the wormhole gate, there would be time for, at most, two waves of troops to emerge. But because of this sudden incident, a full four waves of troops could now surge out of the wormhole gate!!
It was estimated that this unexpected event had pushed the Black Spine Brain Worm to its limit! The first wave of troops that emerged consisted of no fewer than fifteen pure Mammoth Behemoths, plus... two Scorpions!!
The Mammoth Behemoths roared and charged wildly, colliding head-on with the Legendary Creatures without regard for death. Their massive bodies existed precisely for this purpose!!
The Black Bee Fog, which completely suppressed ranged attacks, enveloped the wormhole gate in the first instant.
A second later, the Scorpion’s signature skill, Blood Mist, splattered around the bodies of the foremost Legendary Creature Knights. Instantly, the air around their bodies seemed to turn directly crimson.
Following a ferocious and violent clash, the Zerg's precarious situation transformed again from danger to stability! This immensely powerful combat organism group regained the upper hand. At this moment, the Black Spine Brain Worm stopped feigning subtlety; the wormhole gate began operating at maximum capacity, continuously deploying fresh troops onto the battlefield. Worse still, new units were already accelerating their incubation! Yes, they were all pure Zerglings—these foundational Zerg units would undoubtedly exhibit astonishing and terrifying effectiveness when pursuing enemies.
A long, sorrowful horn blast once again swept across the battlefield like pouring quicksilver.
At this instant, the wrinkles on Chief Chir'ok'eo’s face seemed to deepen, and a trace of pain surfaced within his dimming eyes! Under his command, several hundred Morsak tribesmen formed a line, controlling their beasts to create a temporary defensive front. They were simultaneously preparing to receive the retreating Legendary Creature Knights and likely performing a covering action.
---A suicidal task. ---To trade their deaths for the survival of more of their kin!
But not everyone possessed the courage and nobility to willingly face death. Whenever such a person appeared, Chief Chir'ok'eo would roar loudly, point toward the fleeing old, weak, women, and children, and viciously brandish a wooden spear pulled from some unknown place, clearly using their families as leverage.
Fang Senyan, observing the skulls hanging around the necks of these Morsak tribesmen, remained somewhat hesitant. His brow furrowed and furrowed again as he seemed about to speak but held back. At this moment, Mogansha, watching coldly, took a deep breath:
“Hey! Black Spine Brother, can you control your bugs to try and avoid biting those savages to death, and only wound their legs?”
The Black Spine Brain Worm replied curtly:
“I can, but this will increase my troops' casualties by 17.3%.”
Mogansha spat out the gum from his mouth and said quite seriously:
“But I’d bet you this damn thing will increase the enemy’s casualties by at least 30% more.”
The Black Spine Brain Worm asked in surprise:
“Really?”
Fang Senyan gave a wry smile at this:
“It’s true. Not all creatures wage war purely based on cold logic like you. Damn it, I really have psychological barriers against harming children and women—even the Na’vi are no exception.”
The Black Brother was silent for a while before lighting a cigar:
“In Mogadishu a few years ago, ethnic cleansing massacres were common... The blood of women and children would dye the rivers red—I am an orphan who survived a massacre.”
Saying this, the Black Brother turned his head slightly, revealing a very deep scar on the side of his neck. The scar was coiled like a red, raised centipede, running diagonally across his neck, nearly severing his carotid artery; otherwise, he would have died instantly. He showed a mouthful of white teeth and smiled:
“That was a birthday gift given to me by those damn racists—when I was five years old. So every time I touch this scar, it reminds me that one must be hard-hearted towards the enemy, especially those who can threaten your life.”
Fang Senyan sighed, patted the Black Brother’s shoulder, but said nothing more.
In just this short span of time, the situation on the battlefield had devolved into a massive rout of the Morsak tribe and a Zerg pursuit!
At this point, Fang Senyan unveiled his last trump card! He had buried approximately one hundred Zerglings sequentially along the path from Wind Stone Highlands to Triangle Beach. These Zerglings were usually buried in groups of five or six, insignificant morsels that would normally not even whet the appetite of the Morsak tribesmen.
But at this moment when the Morsak were exhausted and fleeing, with pursuers behind them, these fierce creatures suddenly bursting from the earth worked wonders. They only needed to knock the enemy off their mounts, or even delay them for a dozen seconds, allowing the frantically pursuing enemies behind them to further expand their gains.
Furthermore, Mogansha’s strategy of inflicting more leg wounds and fewer fatal blows also proved immensely effective. As mentioned earlier, Chief Chir'ok'eo had ordered the entire tribe out!
This meant that it was common for fleeing Morsak tribesmen, unable to ignore the cries for help from their families behind them, to resolutely turn back to rescue their wounded or elderly relatives, only to fall into the enemy’s trap. It is worth noting that this included a full eight Legendary Creature Knights!!!
