And within those thirty seconds, another wave of troops, a mixture of Vespids and Mammoth Beasts, surged out of the wormhole, silently reinforcing every corner that needed them. After another delay, the new Stinger Earth Towers had fully incubated!
Then the situation settled once more into a grueling war of attrition and endurance……
It seemed the successful insertion of the three Legendary Creature Knights had amounted to little more than destroying a few scattered units, some Stinger Earth Towers, and three non-combatant organ structures!!
At this point, MD was completely stunned! He couldn't help but murmur to himself:
"How could anyone possess such precise control over the battlefield’s flow……..How could anyone possess such precise control over the battlefield’s flow!"
"To manage to engage in a war of attrition even under these conditions, constantly feeding the Mosak tribe the illusion that victory is imminent, when in reality, it remains just out of reach!"
The brother chewing gum turned his head to glance at him, chuckling:
"There will always be freaks who show up on our path, won't there?"
MD, however, shook his head again, then stated gravely:
"Chieftain K'i'er-ok'e is a greedy, cunning, yet extremely cautious individual. He won't be easy to deal with; he should order a retreat soon."
Fang Senyan, however, stated calmly:
"That remains to be seen. Since they have come this far, leaving won't be so simple either."
As the stalemate continued for another five minutes, lives were extinguished on the front lines every second. Chieftain K'i'er-ok'e’s face hardened like stone, and he suddenly retrieved a horn from the saddlebag of a nearby Death-Beast.
This horn was blood-red, etched with spiral patterns, extending about two meters long, curving upwards at a 45-degree angle in the air, seemingly enveloped by a faint crimson mist that was captivating to behold!
Chieftain K'i'er-ok'e raised his head and blew the horn. A desolate, lingering sound echoed through the air, vast and heavy, washing over the land like a tide. Under the sound of the horn, the Legendary Creature Knights behind him charged out in unison, appearing ready to launch a full-scale assault. The insectoid defense perimeter immediately recoiled significantly again! Massive numbers of Mammoth Beasts and Vespids once more poured out of the portal!
But at this moment, those charging Legendary Creature Knights did not pursue once they reached the front lines! Instead, they reigned in their mounts, held their blades steady, and stood in formation! Because the insectoid creatures were also rapidly contracting their defenses, the battle, which had reached a fever pitch, abruptly halted. The open space between them was like a sudden, declared ceasefire zone.
It was even clearly visible that behind the cover of the Legendary Creature Riders, the remaining Mosak tribesmen were already tending to the wounded and simultaneously calling out to retrieve their most powerful and cherished tamed beasts.
Clearly, the Mosak tribe had realized this was likely a trap! A cruel trap set by a cunning enemy at a chosen time and place, designed to deplete the strength of the Mosak tribe as much as possible!
Thus, the true purpose of Chieftain K'i'er-ok'e blowing the horn appeared to be to swiftly escort his wounded tribesmen in a retreat!
Witnessing this scene, all the insectoid creatures seemed to pause, as if tensing their muscles before a punch, and then they surged forward with the furious, uncontrollable torrent of a breaking dam!!!
If the enemy intended to retreat, this was the perfect moment to attack.
But just then, Chieftain K'i'er-ok'e tossed away the horn in his hand, and a tight, scornful expression, pulled down forcefully by the corners of his scarred mouth, appeared.
“ijg,m1 (Damn rats, finally caught you).”
He suddenly raised the staff he held!
Flames erupted at the tip of this thick, heavy staff, instantly incinerating the dried, cracked hide at the top! Then, it suddenly emitted a blinding light! Visible there was another egg-sized, naturally occurring, high-purity Pandora Crystal!
Under K'i'er-ok'e’s frantic propulsion, the Pandora Crystal at the staff's tip slowly shrank, emitting clouds of blood-red mist that drifted toward a Hammerhead Thunderbeast accompanying him.
The giant beast’s two small eyes instantly turned crimson. It lowered its head, incessantly pawing the ground with its forelegs while inhaling deeply, its size suddenly swelling five or six times over. Its thick, wrinkled hide was stretched taut enough to reveal the clear outline of its musculature.
The next second, all the Mosak tribesmen positioned in a straight line in front of the Hammerhead Thunderbeast parted like waves splitting around a rock, creating a path. The small eyes of the Thunderbeast blinked once, as if a camera shutter had clicked; its blood-red pupils clearly imprinted with the image of that bizarre, strange, and ferocious wormhole gate. Chieftain K'i'er-ok'e suddenly hurled the staff forward; the Hammerhead Thunderbeast threw its head back, opened its maw, its throat convulsing once, and swallowed it whole.
Then, the colossal beast began to move, accelerating from slow to high speed! It shook its massive body, burning its life force as it charged forward relentlessly!!
----Down the path of flesh and blood cleared for it! ----Straight toward the teeming tide of insects before it!
But the sea of bugs was not even in its vision. Its eyes had popped loudly, "splattering," the moment it took its first step, blood streaming down from the sockets like two thick, mournful streams of gore. The last image etched into its mind was that door, that strange, bizarre, and ferocious wormhole gate!!
The acceleration of this Hammerhead Thunderbeast was beyond anyone's imagination. It moved unsteadily, and with every stride, one could hear the sound of skin splitting like torn silk under the strain of the bulging muscles. When it reached twenty meters from the front of the insect tide, it was like a high-speed train blasting its whistle, spewing blood and fury, charging forward with unstoppable momentum!!
MD’s expression immediately shifted, and at the same time, he heard Mogansa draw a deep breath! Anyone witnessing such a wildly inflating, staggering behemoth charging directly at them would have a heavy stone dropped onto their heart, perhaps even experiencing the illusion that "to approach means death"!!
But just then, every insectoid creature on the battlefield let out a dull roar from their throats/or perhaps their very cores, and then they swarmed forward like a mad, rushing tide, as if the charging giant beast were a massive magnet attracting them!!
If the enemy sought to compare fearless dedication, the frenzied insectoids had never lost to anyone!!!
The moment the insect tide collided with the giant beast, it kicked up vast swathes of bloody carnage. Although any insectoid unit, even Mammoth Beasts, that dared to stand in the path of the Hammerhead Thunderbeast was inevitably flipped over and trampled into paste, far more insects surged forward, one after another, attacking crazily.
There was a continuous sound of tearing and ripping. By the time the Thunderbeast plunged nearly fifty meters into the insect swarm, its charging speed had noticeably decreased. The frenzied bugs covered its entire body, gnawing and clinging desperately. Even more terrifying was that the surrounding tide of insects packed together, attacking wildly, showing absolutely no fear of death.
Although the beast's purplish-black scaled hide was incredibly tough, and its legs were as thick as ancient trees, the ringed, serrated tusks of the insectoid Mammoth Beasts were also weapons of terrible might. The initial rate of tearing was quite slow, but once the hide was breached, the tender red flesh was greedily and furiously torn away in huge mouthfuls by the Vespids!
Less than fifty meters from the wormhole gate, the Hammerhead Thunderbeast finally gave out and collapsed with a heavy thud. However, its size was still expanding while running, and upon death, the rate of inflation accelerated severalfold! Witnessing this anomaly, Fang Senyan’s eyes flickered:
"Could it be... Chieftain K'i'er-ok'e's trump card is...."
As his words faded,
With the corpse of the Hammerhead Thunderbeast as the core,
A muffled, booming explosion erupted!
The destructive power of this blast was terrifyingly immense, creating a deep crater seven or eight meters wide on the spot, instantly vaporizing the surrounding gore and carnage. Hundreds of Vespids and dozens of Mammoth Beasts near the body vanished completely, and the area within a kilometer seemed to experience a rain of flesh and blood!
Even more horrifying was the fiery debris of flesh and blood flying everywhere!
Fortunately, several Mammoth Beasts had timely positioned themselves in front of the wormhole gate seconds before the explosion. Even so, they let out agonizing screams in the flames, and the left side of the wormhole gate was hit by shrapnel of flying bone and tissue, blasted open with a ghastly, terrifying gash about five or six meters long! The pale supporting skeleton of the wormhole gate was faintly visible in the wound.
Most venomously, faint red afterglows clung to the wound, burning fiercely, which the gushing blood could not extinguish. It scorched the flesh with a "sizzling" sound.
A vacuum of forces—the insectoids suddenly faced a void of military presence!
And in that very moment, Chieftain K'i'er-ok'e, wearing a smug expression, raised that horn again and blew forcefully!!
Amidst the rapid "whoo-whoo-whoo" sounds, led by those dozen or so Legendary Creature Knights, followed by the remaining Mosak tribesmen, they formed a classic wedge assault formation, then charged with thunderous force, aiming directly at that wormhole gate at high speed!!!!
