Although Fang Senyan had succeeded in killing one Rare Elite, because the body of "Boiling Sap" blocked the majority of the flamethrower's power, the other Rare Elite Zergling named "Concentrated Acid," although severely burned and wounded by the machine gunner, was far from fatal, retaining at least half its health. Upon returning to normal, witnessing the horrific spectacle of its kin being boiled alive and exploding, at least forty-one of its lymphatic ducts ruptured due to hormone imbalance caused by rage. Simultaneously, one hundred and seventy-three muscles within its thorax and abdomen simultaneously relaxed, then tensed to their absolute limit!
A thick, green fluid akin to concentrated sulfuric acid was squeezed from its body cavity, shooting towards the human's face at a velocity exceeding seven hundred and thirty meters per second!
Die! Die! Die!
Fang Senyan neither dodged nor retreated; he stared fixedly at the opposing Rare Elite Zergling! The acrid, pungent acid splashed across his left cheek, instantly searing and corroding the flesh, even etching small pits into the white bone beneath. At the same instant, Fang Senyan discarded the flamethrower, lunging forward while drawing Ambition with a backhand flourish!
The wind surged,
The sound of the ocean tide seemed to echo at this very moment,
As if colossal waves roared, surged, and then crashed down heavily!
The air was suddenly infused with the rich, intoxicating aroma of rum.
The muzzle of the dark cannon roared with thunderous sound,
Song of Rum activated!
A lead bullet, trailing a deep, dark luminescence, shot out silently, piercing the head of the Zergling "Concentrated Acid"! A sharp "pop" sent yellowish-green bodily fluid splashing outwards! Although its health had not reached the 30% critical threshold to activate the critical hit bonus, Ambition's inherent high damage and at least a minor stun effect still proved immensely valuable. The stimulant effect on Fang Senyan had not yet worn off. After chugging a mouthful of potent vodka, he bent low and charged toward the stunned Zergling "Concentrated Acid." Ambition was sheathed, but his fists now shone with glints of metallic light, looking as menacing as fangs. By the time "Concentrated Acid" awoke, Fang Senyan's fists had already struck its head heavily!
Even though its bony carapace offered decent protection, Fang Senyan now possessed significant strength, and he was striking a vital area. With a loud crack, the cranial bone armor shattered into several pieces. Amidst the splash of yellowish-green ichor, the Zergling "Concentrated Acid" once again compressed the muscles in its body cavity, spraying a mouthful of thick acid toward the enemy before it.
Fang Senyan's eyes burned with a mixture of animal instinct and savagery. The acid splashed onto his combat armor, utterly failing to resist, directly eating into his muscle and bone, sizzling and emitting terrifying white smoke, etching horrific wounds. But simultaneously, Fang Senyan raised both hands high again, delivering several rapid punches, as a flash of light flickered from the knuckle dusters on his fingers before he slammed them down heavily, piercing deep into the brain of the Zergling "Concentrated Acid." Yellowish-green fluid sprayed all over Fang Senyan's face. With a fierce roar, Fang Senyan strained his hands violently, actually tearing the elite Zergling in half right through its head!!!!
"You have killed Rare Elite Concentrated Acid. Your reputation among humans increases by +1000 points."
"You have killed Rare Elite Boiling Sap. Your reputation among humans increases by +1000 points."
Only after this desperate, frenzied struggle did Fang Senyan feel the tearing pain radiating from his entire body, even feeling the collapsing sensation of his flesh being slowly corroded by the acid. But his spirit soared, because amidst the rotten remains of the two Zerglings, Fang Senyan discovered a soft, silver light lingering and radiating! Rushing forward to look, Fang Senyan saw that the Rare Elite Boiling Sap had dropped a silver key! And the key dropped by the Rare Elite Concentrated Acid was deep blue.
Clearly, Fang Senyan had encountered a low-probability event. The danger of hunting such Rare Elites was immense, especially upon initial contact, risking no less than attacking a Legendary creature. Thus, they indeed had a chance of dropping silver plot-level keys, though the probability was only 1%. The most likely drop was a deep blue key (99% chance), and the least likely was a black key (0% chance, implied contextually). Fang Senyan had simultaneously hit the highest probability (deep blue key, despite getting silver) and the lowest probability (silver key), meaning he wasn't entirely hitting the jackpot.
After taking a long swig from the flask of his Soul Equipment: Endless Potent Vodka, Fang Senyan finally managed to stop the slow decline of his health, watching it stabilize and begin to rise. He casually tore off his combat armor, which was shredded beyond recognition. The wounds on his bare upper body were still emitting wisps of white smoke, and the skin around the injuries had taken on a terrifying, inky black hue, showing no signs of healing, as if even mortal flesh were easily consumed. Fang Senyan's left cheek, sprayed directly by the acid, had turned into a 'Yin-Yang' face, remarkably similar to the poster image of the Terminator with one half human and the other half metallic skeleton.
Confirming he was temporarily safe, Fang Senyan took a deep breath and looked back toward the plain below the mountain. The harsh sunlight slanted down, casting a golden sheen over the yellow sands and Gobi desert below. The vast sea of bugs underneath would close in completely within another minute or two. Perhaps those people below were too immersed in the fight to realize it, but Fang Senyan sighed and shook his head slightly with regret.
Although the objective for coming here had been a complete failure, the gains Fang Senyan had secured from the Black Spine Tribe and the Human Homeworld were more than enough, more than compensating for the losses here. Moreover, he had just obtained a silver key? It felt like losing an eggplant only to gain sesame seeds. One couldn't ask for everything. Thinking this, Fang Senyan couldn't bear to watch the teammates he once fought alongside die before his eyes, so he turned back toward the cave he had come from.
But after taking only two steps, Fang Senyan's pupils suddenly contracted… Because from below the adjacent cliff face, a heavily scarred Overlord Drone flew out. The drone was covered in black bone spurs, followed by trailing tendrils fluttering in the wind, as a giant, jellyfish-like black Host slowly ascended from below!
It was Mogansha, controlling the Host, arriving just in time!
He poked half his body out of the Host's brood chamber and reached out to Fang Senyan, who stood halfway up the slope, pulling him aboard!
"Hey, Boss, you look like you just crawled out of hell. Damn, looks like I'm late, but I have two pieces of good news and one piece of bad news. Which do you want to hear first?"
Fang Senyan gazed down at the insect swarm and smiled:
"The bad news is that one of my Overlord Drones was sacrificed."
"Well, one piece of good news is that this Zerg tribe seems severely lacking in rare minerals, so they haven't upgraded to a Level Four base, meaning they won't have air support attacking us. Tell me the second piece of good news."
Mogansha spread his hands and rolled his eyes:
"Alright, alright, you are astute like a devil. After I split up from you, I found another sub-base of this Zerg tribe; it was built up and had a large number of worker bees constantly mining. To avenge those poor bastards from the Savage Squad, I opened fire on those damned bugs, and that brought out at least hundreds of Zerglings. Fortunately, these disgusting things aren't that fast, so I managed to escape. But covering the Host to get out of range meant some normal losses."
"No wonder I don't see many Zerglings over here." Fang Senyan suddenly realized: "The main base of this Zerg tribe has many small anti-air Spore Cannons built in. While they certainly can't fire into outer space, they are enough to deal with normal flying units. So, all the Zerglings were drawn out to defend the sub-base after you lured them away."
Mogansha was surprised:
"How did you know the main Zerg base has many small anti-air Spore Cannons?"
Fang Senyan replied expressionlessly:
"Take a look behind you and you'll know."
It turned out Mogansha had been focused on looking out for pursuers behind them. He knew that the Host he was riding possessed basic intelligence and wouldn't fly toward danger automatically, so he hadn't even noticed the scenery of the plain below and the distance. He stuck his head out and his eyes widened as he shouted:
"Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing?"
It turned out Fang Senyan was the purchaser of this Host. He could naturally issue mental commands to it. Mogansha turned to see that the Host they were riding was currently descending the mountainside at high speed, plunging directly toward the sea of bugs on the plain below!
Fang Senyan took a deep breath:
"Hosts naturally have anti-cloaking capabilities, so even if there are anti-air Zerglings ambushing on the plain, we can detect them from far away in advance! As long as we reach the rescue point before the Hydralisk swarm closes in, the situation seems dangerous, but we still have a chance to complete the mission!"
Mogansha swallowed a mouthful of saliva and looked outside:
"This is a truly insane plan, but I like it. But it seems there are too many people alive. What do we do? Boss, I'm going to get heart disease staying with you too long. Damn it, why can't I attack while sitting inside the Host?"
Mogansha had tried firing from inside the Host before, but as soon as he shot, the flying Host would rock violently. The Nightmare Mark explanation stated that because he was inside the Host, the sound of gunfire and recoil would affect the Host's equilibrium nerves... H
