Since two individuals suddenly lunged out from around the corner of the corridor, a portion of the robots' attention had already been fixed on the entrance to the plaza. Naturally, this was because the two humans who burst in were shockingly powerful, far beyond what one would expect of humans.
The Decepticons had always regarded humans as a lesser species, inferior to machines. But who could have predicted that these two humans possessed a strength that surpassed their wildest estimations? Consequently, even the focus of some of the robots was involuntarily drawn toward the plaza entrance.
The Tri-Mode Robot, though functional, was not the same kind of Tri-Mode unit manufactured using the advanced BOT technology from the original Space Fortress storyline.
In that original narrative, such a robot fell from outer space onto the Earth’s surface, crashed through a steel bridge without sustaining any damage, and still managed to blast off into the cosmos—a truly exaggerated machine. Rogandao's robot was clearly not that indestructible.
As this Tri-Mode Robot charged into the plaza, over a dozen energy blasts immediately fired toward it. Despite the furious acceleration provided by the jet system, at least five blasts struck the Tri-Mode Robot’s external shield. The violent explosions caused the robot's energy level to drop by a full bar, and this happened even before it had traveled a hundred meters.
Rogandao felt the robot shudder violently; its leg had been seized by another robot, one that stood four or five meters tall yet possessed surprising agility.
Then, it was slammed ruthlessly toward the ground.
Rogandao was currently in his unlocked gene state. As the Tri-Mode Robot was being driven toward the pavement, it suddenly utilized the power of its jet system while mid-air to violently spin its body. With a sharp crack, the immense force generated by the jet system actually wrenched the arm of the seizing robot completely off. Rogandao dared not press the advantage; he was no match for the abnormalities that were Zheng Zha and Chu Xuan.
Thousands of robots were densely packed all around. A single synchronized volley from them would instantly reduce him to history. Therefore, as soon as he broke free of that robot’s grip, he stamped his feet hard and once more accelerated forward using the sheer speed of his jet system.
“I don't want to die!” Rogandao’s eyes were burning crimson. Although his high speed allowed him to evade many energy blasts, his energy reserves continued to plummet throughout his dash. Yet, the arrow was already on the string.
Rogandao’s vision was locked solely on the spark source within the pillar of lightning; nothing else occupied his mind.
Smack! The Tri-Mode Robot was seized by one leg once more. Rogandao instinctively tried to spin the robot to counter, but the maneuver failed this time. The robot was violently driven toward the ground. While the machine wasn't completely smashed, the impact nearly knocked Rogandao unconscious. When he finally got a clear look, he was nearly scared to death: Zheng Zha was roaring on his robot’s screen, standing planted upon it.
Zheng Zha had leaped down from above while Chu Xuan was unleashing his formidable power. His current appearance was even more exaggerated: a pair of bat wings constantly burned with a dusky flame, barely a shade away from true blackness. His entire back seemed to boil with fire, and dark, intricate patterns emerged across his skin, looking like pitch-black arcane runes or strange symbols. Finally, his eyes were completely red, and two small horns were vaguely budding above his forehead. In this form, Zheng Zha no longer resembled a human.
“Zheng… Zheng Zha?” Rogandao stammered, paralyzed by fear, but what greeted him was a mad fist slamming down.
Zheng Zha’s punch struck the front of the Tri-Mode Robot’s head. A dull clang of metal meeting metal rang out, but the blow didn't pierce the robot; it merely dented the outer casing, coming so close to hitting Rogandao inside the cockpit that it was terrifying. However, the Tri-Mode Robot, being a product of EOT alien technology, proved its sturdiness by deflecting Zheng Zha’s furious strike.
Failing to achieve his goal with one blow, Zheng Zha threw his head back and roared toward the sky. Just as he prepared to attack the robot again, dozens of energy blasts struck his body in rapid succession. Instantly, his protective shield was pulverized. The internal energy of the Dragon Crystal necklace had been completely depleted, and the berserk Zheng Zha was in no state to input more vital energy. Thus, the subsequent blasts hit Zheng Zha’s actual body before being momentarily intercepted by the dusky flames.
“Aoo!” Zheng Zha violently snapped his head around. Before his roar could fully finish, in the next second he activated “Shave” and appeared among the mass of robots. One hand tore ceaselessly, while the other brandished the Hu Po blade in a frenzied flurry. This scene resembled less a battle and more the reckless fighting of a madman. In mere seconds, the ground was littered with the wreckage of exploding scrap metal, and Zheng Zha showed no sign of stopping. He savagely drove the Hu Po blade into the plaza floor, jammed it into the gap between the steel plates, and wrenched an entire section of the plating upward.
Then, he entered his “Annihilation” state, tearing upwards to lift the entire steel slab, approximately seventy square meters in size. With a powerful downward thrust, he pressed it down as if swatting a fly with a flyswatter.
Every robot crushed beneath this slab exploded. He showed no pause, continually driving the steel plate downward with one hand, crushing countless robots along the way.
Rogandao watched, utterly stunned. He had never imagined there was such a method for fighting giant robots. This was the ultimate realization of 'the soft fearing the hard, the hard fearing the reckless, the reckless fearing the utterly insane,' and Zheng Zha was currently reckless, insane, and utterly suicidal.
Who among these hard, metallic Decepticons would dare provoke him? That was what Rogandao thought, until he saw Zheng Zha lift the massive steel plate and turn it toward him. The man’s mind instantly went blank.
Just as the steel plate was about to descend upon his Tri-Mode Robot… Although Zheng Zha’s body was beyond control, his consciousness was terrifyingly clear. He was attacking a member of his own team. Yet, residing in the Great Freedom realm, he felt detached from the implications. Whether it was mere survival, violating his conscience by killing, or the powerlessness against the Reincarnation World and fate—in this state, he viewed it all with profound indifference.
It was as if nothing required his concern anymore, not even his own life, let alone the lives of others. Yet, this one downward smash meant Rogandao’s death would lead to his permanent non-awakening… This was the epitome of becoming a demon in a single thought, far removed from achieving instant Buddhahood… (He must be woken up!)
“Zheng Zha! Remember when you said everyone had to survive together?” A colossal voice boomed from the other end of the plaza. The sheer volume of the voice created an audible shockwave; the nearest few robots instantly crumpled to the ground, some vital internal components vibrating themselves into pieces.
As Zheng Zha brought the steel plate down toward Rogandao, stopping less than two meters away from the Tri-Mode Robot, the voice reached his ears. His entire body trembled violently. The Great Freedom realm encompassing Zheng Zha’s consciousness suddenly shattered. Then, the hand holding the steel plate froze mid-motion.
“Wha—!” Zheng Zha let out a huge cough, spitting out a mouthful of blood that shimmered with dusky flames before instantly vaporizing upon leaving his body. However, he was clearly beginning to regain consciousness. As his awareness reasserted control, the black markings on his skin gradually transformed into minute scales, and the bat wings on his back began to shift toward dragon wings covered in scales. Except for the disappearance of the small horns on his forehead, Zheng Zha’s appearance hadn't changed significantly. Of course, the dusky flames vanished once the wing transformation was complete.
“You did say you wanted to take everyone with you, didn't you? Do you still want to see your clone again? Or is weak evasion a better choice?” Chu Xuan’s voice echoed again, though this time it was noticeably softer than before.
Zheng Zha took a deep breath and roared to the heavens once more. He suddenly hurled the steel plate toward a large cluster of robots in the distance. Without waiting for their retaliatory barrage to begin, he first shot toward Rogandao’s Tri-Mode Robot. He grabbed one of the Tri-Mode Robot’s legs and hurled it toward the spark source, simultaneously engaging “Shave” with his feet as he rushed ahead toward Megatron.
“We live together! I remember that much… But how did you get so strong?” In his haste, Zheng Zha managed to shout that much before bringing the Hu Po blade down in a sweeping strike aimed at Megatron’s head.
