Zheng Zha carefully lifted the manhole cover, then shot out of the sewer in one sudden burst. Simultaneously, he drew the Tiger Soul Blade from his storage ring. Wisps of faint, tiger-shaped white mist swirled around, condensing and dissipating in a manner that appeared deeply uncanny. Once Zheng Zha confirmed the surroundings were clear, he immediately returned the Tiger Soul Blade to his ring.
“Everyone, come out. There shouldn’t be any enemies here, but the vicinity looks…” Zheng Zha stood on the shattered cement ground, slowly surveying his surroundings. This was clearly the ruin of a place that had seen war. Broken buildings, pockmarked by shell damage, surrounded them. A pungent smell of gunpowder hung in the air, and some of the collapsed structures still emitted thin plumes of smoke. The concrete street itself was pulverized, testifying to the sheer intensity of the battle that had raged here.
After everyone had climbed out of the sewer, Zhan Lan spoke quickly, her voice laced with urgency: “Zheng Zha, there’s still fighting over there—dozens of gigantic robots are attacking a unit of human tanks. The tanks seem to be covering civilian evacuation as they retreat toward the mountains outside the city. But these robots’ firepower is overwhelming; the tank unit has fewer than twenty left…” Zheng Zha opened his mouth to respond, but suddenly paused, looking immediately at Chu Xuan and Xiao Honglu. “Do I support that human unit now? I don't know if you have any plans or strategies worked out, but I’m going to rescue them. If you intend to stop me, do it now!” Chu Xuan shook his head. “We won’t stop you. The current situation has been confirmed.
The AllSpark has been seized by the Decepticons; the movie plot has shifted. However, it seems the Decepticons only just acquired the AllSpark, otherwise, the humans wouldn’t only just be starting their city evacuation… You make the call.
You are the captain.”
Zheng Zha then looked at Xiao Honglu, who nodded silently. Only then did Zheng Zha speak: “Chu Xuan, you pilot the other Green Goblin Glider, take Zhan Lan, Xiao Honglu, Qi Tengyi, and Zhao Yingkong with you. Cheng Xiao, you take Ba Wang and Wang Xia.
Zero Point, Luo Gandao, and Zhang Heng.
You will fly directly toward the direction of the human retreat. Zhan Lan, you are responsible for coordinating communication between our two groups. Remember, your ground combat capabilities against the robots are not strong; it’s best not to overexert yourselves by attacking them.
Leave those robots to us!” With that, he opened his spatial pouch and produced the Green Goblin Gliders.
Once everyone was settled into the small airship baskets, both groups sped toward the location of the battle.
Along the way, Zhan Lan deployed her mental energy scan. The entire city held over a hundred robots; the largest towered seventeen or eighteen meters high, their massive forms appearing ridiculously exaggerated, while the smallest were still six or seven meters tall. All of these robots were considerably larger than the mecha piloted by Luo Gandao. It was unclear which side held the advantage in terms of agility or firepower.
The number of human tanks was dwindling rapidly. Amidst the incredibly agile maneuvers of the robots, the armor-piercing shells fired by the tanks simply could not land a hit.
The robots, however, sporadically launched attack missiles, blowing up tank after tank. By now, only six or seven tanks were desperately holding the line. Behind them, thousands of soldiers in trenches furiously poured ammunition, but it was clear that unless they used heavy weaponry, like anti-tank missiles, which could inflict damage on the robots, conventional gunfire was useless. Once the tanks were destroyed, those thousand soldiers faced only one outcome… Seeing the critical situation, Zheng Zha roared through their mental link: “Luo Gandao! What are you waiting for? Your robot is equipped with a Dragon Crystal! High-tech weaponry won’t harm you, and your Dragon Crystal’s energy source is your mech’s internal power storage, which holds more energy than everyone else’s Dragon Crystal necklaces! Hurry up and test the power of those robots!” Luo Gandao was already piloting his Fortress-III multi-use mech. Compared to those transforming robots, his mech was significantly smaller; even the smallest Transformer bot dwarfed his multi-use machine. But Luo Gandao knew Zheng Zha was right; lingering in the rear was a bad move. If they failed to save the humans and, worse, offended Zheng Zha and the others—or terrifyingly, offended the formidable Chu Xuan—the loss would be too great. With a loud shout, Luo Gandao unleashed a burst of electrical energy from his mech, and the shuttle’s flight mode rocketed forward.
By this moment, the tank formation had been completely annihilated, with the remaining three tanks making futile gestures. Just as the dozens of robots prepared to strike, a sudden explosion erupted from the rear of the last robot. The force of the blast hurled it dozens of meters away, crashing it directly into the ruins of a collapsed building, leaving a massive, gaping hole in its entire back section.
Everyone—both human and robot—instinctively looked back to see a space shuttle screaming toward them, trailing electrical light. The human soldiers, who had been ready to cheer, suddenly held their breath. Their intelligence indicated that robots transforming into aircraft or tanks belonged to the Decepticons, while Autobots transformed into vehicles. This incoming small space shuttle was highly likely to be new Decepticon reinforcements. While one more wouldn't change much, the human army now felt utterly desperate.
Luo Gandao was piloting his mech with his Genetic Lock disengaged. At that extreme speed, he still possessed the reaction time to launch a guided projectile. From targeting the robots to firing the missile took less than a second; he certainly did fire, and he hit his mark. Then, mid-air, he began his transformation, shifting instantly from shuttle mode to robot mode, using the momentum of the impact to slam violently into the largest black robot.
The black robot reacted with incredible speed; as the shuttle transformed and charged toward it, it managed to raise an arm to block. But that was all it could manage. The instant Luo Gandao completed his transformation, his robot wielded a high-frequency vibrating blade meant for mechs—a high-tech weapon he had redeemed with reward points after the conclusion of the Rings scenario.
The four-meter-long, blade-less edge drove deep into the black robot’s chest. Luo Gandao then wrenched his mech’s controls, and with several sharp cracks, a gaping hole several meters wide was torn into the black robot’s torso. This was precisely the weak spot pointed out in the film's lore: the central energy core in the chest cavity, the target Luo Gandao had aimed for.
The surrounding robots were stunned. As the black robot exploded, the Fortress-III multi-use mech vaulted backward. Luo Gandao roared from his cockpit: “This is a high-tech robot manufactured using BOT alien technology! Forget your attacks; it could fly straight into outer space and still be fine! Come on, all of you, die!” Luo Gandao was still under the influence of his disengaged Genetic Lock. The moment the black robot detonated, he transformed from robot mode into a half-robot, half-gliding form—a state that allowed him to skim across the ground at speeds far exceeding walking or bounding. A burst of cyan-blue electricity shot from his back, and his gliding speed surpassed what the eye could follow. In an instant, the giant blade swept across the legs of several robots, causing them to topple over onto the ground, unable to regain their footing immediately.
Despite this, these robots were not easily defeated. When Luo Gandao stopped his electrical venting, dozens of guided projectiles hammered him from all directions. Startled, he leaped upward, transforming into a shuttle mid-air and flying far away. Behind him, a tremendous, earth-shaking explosion erupted, the shockwave of which caused his own flight path to shudder, hinting at the sheer violence of the blast.
“Oh, ah! It’s Autobot robots! It’s our reinforcements! My God, the Autobots aren’t all dead! We still have hope!” A soldier suddenly jumped up from his trench, screaming with wild excitement.
The surrounding soldiers cheered in unison, shouting loudly. Several of them even aimed their anti-tank missiles at the robots currently firing at Luo Gandao, though the power of these weapons proved largely ineffective against the alien lifeforms.
Luo Gandao, hounded relentlessly, felt a surge of anger. He tried several times to transform into his robot form for close-quarters combat, but overwhelming volleys of bullets and missiles drove him back, preventing approach. Furthermore, the robots’ weaponry was terrifyingly potent; one type fired small-particle laser rounds that caused the Fortress-III mech to tremble violently upon impact. The semi-transparent protective layer of the Dragon Crystal seemed on the verge of cracking, and the mech’s stored internal energy plummeted drastically. Of course, even in ranged combat, he was far from useless; he had managed to strike the chests of over a dozen robots with guided missiles, turning them all into scrap. However, the remaining twenty-odd robots were clever; upon seeing one of his missiles launch, they would instantly duck, nullifying his previous effectiveness.
“Luo Gandao, we’re here!” Suddenly, a Green Goblin Glider streaked in from the distance—Zheng Zha’s group, whose flight speed was slower than the Fortress-III mech. As Zheng Zha’s roar sounded, a massive crack echoed below. A robot was instantly pierced through by an unseen force, sent flying dozens of meters before exploding—the power of a Gauss Rifle… Leaping to...
